AlfaOBD

Takes a while for the button to show up in apps, I left mine overnight.

As indicated, it won't even load on mine, that's a pic from a 1500.
Probably won't on mine either... But you peaked my courosity

Is there a way to use off-road pages while driving normal? As in highway speeds, would be cool to see the grade of bigger hills going up and down.

I am sure it has been mentioned but I could not find the answer. Can alfaOBD be used at the same time an AEV procal snap is being used? I I have my speedo calibrated and tpsi threshold set using the procal can I also use the alfaOBD to program/enable other features at the same time? If the answer is yes would the procal's security bypass cable need to be removed or could it be left in place and just use one of the other empty slots? thanks. I really only want to enable a few features ie bed lights and maybe a front camera. thanks

Yes, you can use AlfaOBD even if you already made adjustments with procal. The procal bypass will not work as bypass for AlfaOBD, but you can still add the procal cable to a bypass that is used for AlfaOBD.

just so I am clear. The AEV snap bypass harness be left plugged in to the green star connector while simultaneously using the kaodtech cable? reason I ask I don't thing I can un-connect the snap harness as no room to get at it and I can't seem to get a pick in to unclip it. I suppose they make them hard to get at for a reason :) thanks.

Correct, procal bypass harness connector can remain plugged into the star can block.

I remove my KAOdTECH cable before the truck goes to the dealer so I trimmed off enough of the catch on the clip so that it stays put but is easy to pull.

I really wish I had done that. I know aev says won't affect warranty but I always worry about that kind of thing. 99.9% of techs would never notice the harness but I wonder what would happen if one did

The KAOdTECH is there to hack around the Security Gateway Module. As I understand it, some dealer Witech functions are looking for the security and it could throw a flag. The AEV cable doesn't do that AFAIK, which is why the cable isn't useful with AlfaOBD for most other changes.

I wouldn’t of thought of that, I was just going to tie wrap the obd end up under the dash when I brought it in for the Y78. I guess I’ll yank it out before then just to be safe.

I don’t see how this would be an issue if the cable is installed in the bus blocks but disconnected from the OBD port. I keep it disconnected and tucked away for dealer trips. I also do not remove the OEM port and instead just plug the bypass into it and the adapter into the bypass.

I just used the KAOdTECH bypass harness, OBD MX+ bluetooth device and Alfaobd app to lower the tire pressure threshold on my 2022 Ram 2500 Laramie. No issues and took less than 10 minutes.

So I extracted

So I extracted the latest update 39.7 to an empty FAT32 formatted 16gb thumb drive. When I plug it into either of the media USB ports with the truck running, or off but keyed on Run, I don’t get anything. No prompt to update. I’m currently on version 34.2.

Any ideas?

Unzip the 39.7 PR folder. Open that folder up, and move only the VP4R_Update folder to the usb drive.

Thanks @Jimmy07 . Ok, I extracted the 39.7, opened the UCONNECT_12_UAX_PR39.7 folder, and copied the VP4R_Update folder only over to my USB drive. Headed out to plug it in now.

Still nothing. I tried both media USB 1 and 2. Left it in Run, and also started the truck. Do I copy just the contents of the VP4R_Update folder over maybe? No folder, just the files? I'm using a 32gb sandisk drive if that matters.

The USB should only have the folder in the root (with the files in the folder)

Maybe try going to the Media display and selecting USB to ensure it's trying to read it.

Make sure you extracted the correct folder. Though I'm uncertain what/why there's a MAC folder. I think that one is used by Witech if the dealer does it.

I'm at the same version as you and I can not get the 39.7 update to work either (2019 2500). Nothing ever pops up after inserting the drive. I have tried multiple drives, various ways to stage the files. Nothing seems to work (truck started, truck not start but in run, waiting up to 5 minutes... nothing).

Did you ever get it to work @MooneyFWD ?

I will also add that I have not gotten the over the air update that others seems to report, also if I check the uconnect website and enter my VIN, it says there are no updates available.
