AlfaOBD

which settings did you enable in alpha to get forward camera to work? How long does it stay enabled? On my gladiator it on trail camera for a while.

VehConfig 8 Off Road Camera turned on

Not sure how long it stays on, but next time I am out I will try it out.
 
I read all 14 pages of this and I have a question about the hardware needed to get this up and running. I would be using the windows version as we don’t have an androids

I have an old laptop that I never use, maybe 5 years old. I’m not sure the last time its been booted up. Is this sufficient to operate this alphaobd?

My wife has a newer computer that I’m sure is up to date but it is a desktop so I can’t take it out to the truck. I’m assuming I need to take the computer out to the truck?

I also haven’t seen mention of enabling tow mirrors in this thread or in the sticky that has been linked in multiple replys here. This functionality is in alpha? This is my main target.

I have a bypass cable installed for my procal snap but it does not look like the kaodtech cable, so I would need to remove the one I have and replace it with the kaod one?

The only system requirement I see listed on alphaobd.com is .NET framework has to be 4.0 or higher.

Not sure about the other questions as mine came with the tow mirrors, and I have the Kaodtech cable. I would assume that if its a bypass cable for the CAN bus, then you should be good.

Yes, tow mirrors is in there to enable.
You will need a bypass like the kaodtech. The procal bypass only bypasses one of the two canbus networks. It might work for some changes, but not everything.

I haven't had any luck so far. Did you enable the Offroad Camera in AlphaOBD?

I have the soft keys in u connwct but am still experience no guidelines when backing up and no surround view. Took a few days for the buttons to show up so I am leaving it untouched to see if it starts working.

I saw your reply in my email but for some reason it isn't showing in the forum... I have a Tazer. I have had issues...

The features that work and I use are...
Lightshows
Auto power folding mirrors

The features they have been unable to get to work are...
Global window up and down
Navigation in motion
Traction control kill
TPMS kill

I was originally supplied with a bypass cable, plugs into obd port and can bus blocks, when I ordered by my year make and model. Once the product arrived and we started trouble shooting I was informed that I needed a Security Gateway Bypass, plugs in behind cluster.

The lights show, use them for high visibility strobes when working, and the auto folding mirrors always worked with the bypass.

69 doll hairs later and I received and installed the SGW bypass. Still no luck with the features above.

I was able to kill TPMS with AlphaOBD so no longer need that function but would love the others.

Strobes I guess satisfy the 300 doll hair cost for me though.

Sorry for the rant... but it has been a year for them to deliver and they still haven't.

@HORam , Auto Folding mirrors? Didn't know that was even possible. Do they auto fold when shutting truck off and then open back up when turning back on?
 
Got my MX+ today and obviously downloaded AlfaOBD. What can and can I not do without the security module bypass? It’s in the mail but can’t I knock out a few basic things before it gets here like Tpms and tire size?

Without a bypass, you are only able to read/view information. You can’t send any type of command to any modules.

Gotcha. So no changes until it gets here. Bummer. TPMS is annoying the heck out of me and the fill alert reset/change isn’t working for some bizarre reason.
 
Feeling like kind of a dummy right now....

I installed the Kaodtech bypass cable, hooked up my OBDLink MX+, and connected via my laptop to change the tire size. I used the guide in the google docs posted on this forum which has you select the MY2013-2017 BCM and I think I also used the 2013-2018 ABS option. Looking back I see a MY2020 option for the BCM and a MY2019+ ABS option...

Did I screw anything up by using the older year model options? If so, can I just redo the procedure with the newer options?
