I posted this in a different thread but figured I would post it here for better visibility .

Has anyone successfully used AlphaOBD to change the tire size. I have been trying but get an error ( see attached). When I looked at the AEV Procal is says it won’t work on a 2023 ( see second attachment), that makes me think that something is different on the 2023. Any help would be appreciated

I don't have an Android device so I bought OBD JScan instead... I checked with them first because their app only lists 2013-2021. They said it would work for the 23s. I used it without issue and successfully made a few changes (tire pressure, fogs with highs, show current gear).

Edit - fixed typo (used without issue, not with!)

Did you need the bypass cable? You used it with or without issues.?

Are you using a bypass cable?

Yes, I have the bypass cable. I plugged the white/green connecter into the white/green CAN and the black/green connecter into the black/green CAN. I assume you can use any open spot on the CAN...

Yes, using the one you sent me!
ok last question (hopefully) there is a RAM DD 3500 and a RAM D2 3500 option to pick from. I have a 3500 SRW CC SB HO, I believe I should pick the RAM D2 3500

I have a 2500 and selected DJ (Ram DJ 2500 2013-2021). I'm not sure what the difference between DD and D2 is. The developer has been very responsive over Facebook Messenger if you want to ask directly. They added the Gear Display option for me in ~ a week after I requested it there.

ok thanks!

Got this all squared away. I am not sure if the difference was that I was using AlfaODB on windows and jscan on IOS but jscan was MUCH easer and only $20 bucks. The other thing that JScan does which is nice is after you change the tire size the you only have one step to clear all the the ABS flashing crap.
plus I still could not get AlfaODB to work 100% on my 2023..

the steps were simple

Change tire size
full initialize of the ABS
clear codes

hats off to JScan

I did not have to pay for Jscan for my iphone that must be new

So yeah, if you want to make changes the licensing fee is $20… so easy to use

The app is free. It will not connect to your vehicle without paying for a VIN license.
Ok that makes sense i have not had to actually use it yet.

Where did you find the gear selector option. I have a 2022 Ram 2500 Longhorn and looked yesterday in obd jscan and could not find where to enable this feature.

Go into adaptations then search for "gear" with the icon in bottom right. You'll see "Actual Gear for Display On/Off". They added this after I requested it to them.

After turning on, you need to go through the dash settings to actually turn it on. Without changing in JScan (or Alfa), the option to turning it on via dash settings is not present.
