Adding adaptive cruise

Does the trailer/4wd issue occur every time, or just some of the time?
I've only done once as I am worried it may not reset back to normal after I restart the truck. We have a trip planned with the camper in a couple of weeks and I'll test it again. The trailer issue only happens when I try to use cruise controll with the trailer lights plugged in. The issue with the factory camera occurred when I was pulling a different trailer, but it did not reset after the truck was turned off or trailer disconnected. That's what led me to the replacement.

It's one of the only things keeping me from doing an AEV build on this truck, or just trading in for a truck with these features. I really screwed the pooch and didn't fully read which package my truck came with. Stupid of me, but a learning lesson.

@nsuth @mattjackson86 @Jimmy07, Good day all. I read through this thread from beginning to end… I got excited and then disappointed. I have a 2019 Laramie 2500 with the 12” screen, auto headlights, auto wipers, 360 camera… Looks like there is still an open question whether this will still work on a Laramie+. I am willing to give it a try. Anyone have parts they are willing to give me a deal on?

Posts 22 & 23 updated with some ACC install instructions.

Extra info for those that want to add lane assist along with ACC:
If you ALREADY HAVE adaptive steering, you just need to swap in the correct 12” screen that has the lane assist button (and no, you can’t get away with adding lane assist without having the physical button).
12” screens with lane assist button:
2019-2021 Cummins (Uconnect 4 only)- 68370849AC
2019-2021 Hemi (Uconnect 4 only)- 68423810AC
2022+ Cummins (Uconnect 5 only)- 68526611AB
2022+ Hemi (Uconnect 5 only)- 68526610AB

If you DO NOT have adaptive steering, in addition to the screen you need to swap out the steering gear box for the one with torque overlay- 68507900AB
Jumper wiring to connect steering module- 68485757AA (for 2019, you’ll need an additional custom harness)
The intermediate steering shaft (the one that connects to the gear box) is swapped out for a shorter one- 68427394AA

These are all the settings for lane assist:
VehConfig 7: Lane Departure Warning Present- YES

CustSetMenu 1: Lane Departure Torque CSM Present- YES

CustSetMenu 1: Lane Departure Warning CSM Present- YES

P/T Chassis Net: EPS Electric Power Steering- ENABLED (already set on adaptive steering equipped)
Jimmy do you sell the custom 2019 harness for the steering module?

Anyone have a drawing for this harness that is required for a 2019 to add lane assist or know where it can be purchased?

Any help on this custom harness for a 2019 2500 to add lane assist would be much appreciated. Has anyone else done it as I would like to get it added to my truck?

You can definitely add lane assist to a 2019, because the guy that builds branches for comma.ai for the Ram community has a 2019 HD Ram that he retrofitted lane assist on.
I haven’t built the required custom harness for one yet (except my own for my 2017, but that was bundled in with a bunch of other custom wiring), but I’ll figure out the easiest way to build and add the necessary wiring.
Do you know who the comma.ai guy is or how to get in contact with him? I want to get a comma.ai but need to figure out how to make this custom harness.

Can you do this on a 2018? I realize the windshield needs to be replaced, just wondering if the 2019+ windshields are the same size. I looked for over an hour on various sites and was unable to find the dimensions, I have a cracked windshield and since it needs replacement I figure I might as well get the newer windshield now if it will fit, Thank you

I can confirm that 68362490AB fits in the Ram 1500 4th Gen Classic as I just had one installed in my 2019. I need to get a few more parts together but I intend to have 360 camera and every option available except sunroof and airbags. It can be done in steps and different ways, I'm wondering if the New 1500 has all the options available to the HD Rams like the convex mirror control and tow mirror control for example, I'm not sure if I'll have to choose between the 1500s full stop and go or some features for the 2500, but I'm guessing the mirror controls and other things the 2500 is capable of being equipped with far exceeds the unlikely situation that I will be not paying attention while driving. I would like to get the full LCD cluster and LCD rear view mirror working. Easiest thing would be a full swab but that's less fun

Any luck? I didn’t ever get it to work. And seems Jimmy has gone MIA.
I'm going to give it another try, but still getting the equipment I need, just purchased the Mongoose-Plus off ebay. Next purchase in a couple of months will be the windows laptop to run the calibration again.

Kinda forgot about this because I didn’t have any new info, but I did just add this to our ‘19 1500 and had a few issues, one being that I forgot two settings and they aren’t listed here either:
VehConfig 3: Collision Mitigation System Present- Yes

VehConfig 3: Forward Collision Warning Present- Yes

Not sure if you had those settings set before or not, but try again with those set and a fresh recalibration.

It’ll probably be easier to go with 2500 modules and features. In order to get adaptive cruise on your truck, you’ll need a 2019+ 2500 ABS module and HCU. That alone will require new or reworked brake lines going to the abs module, and a different connector that is re-wired.
You also need a 2019+ 2500 BCM. For that BCM to work in your truck, you need a used RF Hub and PCM out of the same 2019+ 6.4 hemi 2500 (you’ll have to flash your engine calibration onto that PCM, and program a fob to get the BCM married).
Next, that bcm will cause your headlight switch, hvac, and dial shifter to not work, so you’ll need to swap in the full 2019+ 2500 dash (along with hvac module, box, ductwork, headlight switch, dial shifter, etc).
Once that’s all done, the mirrors and surround view will be a cakewalk.
If you plan on doing the full digital cluster, make sure all of those modules I just mentioned are from a 2023+ HD Ram instead (including the steering wheel and clock spring).

I didn't see these 2 settings documented in our last attempt, I'll add them to my next attempt, thanks

If this helps anyone, I have both types of cruise control on my 23. I found the adaptive one to be annoying, it brakes too hard when not needed. I have stopped using it and started using standard cruise control again. It is much more relaxing of a ride.

So glad to see new updates here for RAM 2500 "Adding adaptive cruise". I have a 2019 RAM 2500 diesel, and have been following the Forum purchasing all of the Mopar parts for this project except the windshield. As soon as I feel comfortable to pull the trigger to attack the project I will replace my last puzzle piece, i.e. windshield. Thanks Jimmy07 and all of you for your posts, I like them very much!

No luck. No change.

Made the following changes in AlfaOBD:

VehConfig 2: Cruise Control Present - NO
VehConfig 7: Type of adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system present - ACC with stop
VehConfig 7: Full Speed Range Forward Collision Warning Plus System - YES
CustSetMenu 1: Forward Collision Warning CSM Present - Feature 2 - 3 Option
CustSetMenu 2: Forward Collision Warning Single Setting (Warning and Brake) CSM Present - YES
P/T Chassis Net: ACC/DASM Adaptive Cruise Control/Driver Assistance Module - ENABLE

VehConfig 3: Collision Mitigation System Present - Yes
VehConfig 3: Forward Collision Warning Present - Yes

Then went into Witech and Cleared DTCs, Enter/Exit Plant Mode on DASM, Calibration.

Did this twice.

Both times I end up with a DTC on the DASM code C2206-00 "Vehicle Configuration Mismatch". Active. Wont clear. OR if it does it immediately returns.

I’d still suggest that anyone with a 2500 hold off on this mod as it’s expensive and hasn’t worked in a long time. Maybe only worked with 2-3 people.
