Good call I hate when dealers pull that crap. Get a hold of Ram care open a case it will help with that.

68RFE FAIL

Good call I hate when dealers pull that crap. Get a hold of Ram care open a case it will help with that.
Just thought I’d throw another data point into the ring.
95,000miles and reverse just stopped working. Literally no warning. Drove it home like normal, parked it in the driveway. Got in the next morning, put it in reverse and it acted just like it was in neutral. Absolutely no indication there was anything wrong. No noises, no warning lights, nothing. Just no reverse. Weirdest thing.
Dealer paperwork says a “piston” failed. I assumed a solenoid, but know nothing about this trans. (Nor do I care since it’s warrantied. It becomes my problem in another 30k after my warranties are up.)
It was covered under warranty. I assume it was the CPO warranty and not my extended, since there was no deductible. Took it in Oct 1,
Or 2, and got it back on 10/22. New trans.,torque converter, lines, and cooler.
Still love the truck enough to not be interested in trying anything else. I’m of the opinion everything built since 2020 is a ticking timebomb. It’s just what’s going to go wrong and when. Not if.

This would send me over the edge. Hat's off to your patience good sir.
My dad just went through OD packs smoked on his new to him 2016 6.4 2500 with 105k. Test drove fine then got it on the highway and hot and it started acting up. Purchased from an individually that likely knew it had issues.
The RFE family is awful and I’m surprised they hung onto them so long when the 8 speed was in the gas truck in 2019. I’d rather hear a V8 spinning in the mountains than have a 68 behind a Cummins. (Understand the V8 simply isn’t sufficient for some loads/terrain).
Huge bummer they voided it. Bigger tires make a difference but it should be seen as “reducing” the towing capacity. I could see voiding it if you were still max towing with larger tires but they’d have to prove that. I always keep everything stock to return truck to as built before sending it in for warranty. All receipts sticking with approved fluids filters etc.
They did some VB mods on dad’s truck, better converter, some higher quality OD components and got rid of the thermostat so it’s open flow to the cooler at all times.
