Buy a fun car to play with and beat up. It’s a truck. Let it do truck things and just drive it. I don’t see the gains worth it IMO, and the more you open up the more that can go wrong. Just my $.02

Defiantly mod it! Just know what to work on and when.

Example, intake. The modern intakes are better than most all aftermarket solutions. Most aftermarket solutions are worse than the OEM intake, as they are pulling hot air from engine bay and use metal pipe that heats the air. Don't mod the intake, unless you have built the insides / heads. Just install a good filter.

Start with a basic tuner.

pedal boosters like pedal commander, actually change the "performance" of vehicles. They DO NOT add power, nor do they simply "apply the throttle faster". They change the throttle curve and give the feeling of more "GO". They also cause the transmission to hold gear longer or downshift sooner, by extending the throttle curve the OEM shift pattern is moved in that curve. So just like on an OLD car, you would keep in 2nd as long as you can, before hitting 3rd, when trying to go quickly. ( So tuners claim to adjust this too, but I've found having BOTH creates a great driving truck 'out of the last 5 trucks hemis / cummins')

remove the engine clutch fan with an electric fan will result in ~15hp freed up (Peak 2 peak avg on curve). The engine will rivv up much faster to reach power bands. This MUST be done right on these trucks and not recommend if you actually off-road it. But for a street ride, BEST mod you can do for under ~$6000.

Lots more, but I gotta go. Just watch out, you can quickly exceed the value of the truck, these are meant for your value anyway. Mods also hold ZERO resale value $$, you do them for YOU.

The only thing I did to mine was add a Borla S-type, cuz I wanted to hear that big V8.

I swear it woke up the low end of the truck because the muffler is a straight flow through design. You can see right through from one end to the other. It also removes the resonator. I found some dyno videos of different vehicles making significant tourque gains from a borla system. Doesnt mean mine did though. It sounds like it added 1000hp. LoL

Thats all that mattered to me as it is a heavy ass truck and never gonna be a rocket. For such a big vehicle they do move pretty well though.

Oh and my weathertech mudfaps and baja design foglights for sure added another 20 HP!!!

In all seriousness, a full exhaust (headers and all) a pro-charger and a real tune would probably make the 6.4 a MONSTER. But who knows what it would do to reliability.

I did the weather tech inside and out rhino lining and of course the fog light are installed ended up just using a toggle switch. Lol thanks though

Bout the only thing I’m considering besides some new shoes for the truck is to look into the hellcat oil pump

I agree with others on finding another avenue to spend money on. The point of the BGE 6.4L is to work and its great at what it was designed for. I will on occasion go looking for toys and accessories for my 2500 and its more like being a kid with a Sears catalog.

I hear my wife fire up her Challenger with the HO 6.4L and its sound mean. All OEM but with the SRT OEM systems. 85 more HP, quick revving and sweet exhaust note that sounds like it would snatch the soul from my 2500 Ram. Just as it was designed for as these two 6.4L hemi engines are not the same, perform different and have different jobs designed for.

Buddy at work has an SRT8 6.1L Charger, he loved that car and then dumped a bunch of money of engine upgrades and tuning it without going the forced induction route. He regrets it so much now, just the other day he said that he would love to drive the car more than 500 miles without it throwing an error or needing to go to the shop for something.

The BGE is a great block if you are going to build an engine. MMX stroked forged internals and heads can take on TONS of boost from a Whipple or turbo setup.

I wouldn't mess with it in 2500 though. Not the right platform.
