Hey there not doing anything more out of curiosity I have a 21 2500 6.4 done the basics lift tires rims tint exhaust now I'm starting to look into the motor and was wondering about tuners or maybe getting it tuned i don't Haul anything I drive back and forth to work and just to the store and what not instead have put almost 40 thousand miles on it somebody told me an intake and maybe a tune or tuner even what's yall thoughts......
Defiantly mod it! Just know what to work on and when.
Example, intake. The modern intakes are better than most all aftermarket solutions. Most aftermarket solutions are worse than the OEM intake, as they are pulling hot air from engine bay and use metal pipe that heats the air. Don't mod the intake, unless you have built the insides / heads. Just install a good filter.
Start with a basic tuner.
pedal boosters like pedal commander, actually change the "performance" of vehicles. They DO NOT add power, nor do they simply "apply the throttle faster". They change the throttle curve and give the feeling of more "GO". They also cause the transmission to hold gear longer or downshift sooner, by extending the throttle curve the OEM shift pattern is moved in that curve. So just like on an OLD car, you would keep in 2nd as long as you can, before hitting 3rd, when trying to go quickly. ( So tuners claim to adjust this too, but I've found having BOTH creates a great driving truck 'out of the last 5 trucks hemis / cummins')
remove the engine clutch fan with an electric fan will result in ~15hp freed up (Peak 2 peak avg on curve). The engine will rivv up much faster to reach power bands. This MUST be done right on these trucks and not recommend if you actually off-road it. But for a street ride, BEST mod you can do for under ~$6000.
Lots more, but I gotta go. Just watch out, you can quickly exceed the value of the truck, these are meant for your value anyway. Mods also hold ZERO resale value $$, you do them for YOU.
