Is it me or does it bother anyone else with the hoop flapping around in heavy wind conditions? I came from a 2018 2500 with steal to a 2019 3500 aluminium. Just seems odd to me.

Yes it is bad. My hood is the same way and drives me nuts. A few threads on here with possible fixes and adjustments. Worth the read- May or may not work for you.

Yep drives me nut also. I saw them about adjusting the stops. The light weight tailgate awesome lol.

Your 2018 had an aluminum hood also. The 2018 hood will float in the wind too.

Lots have said they adjust the bump stops and it fixes it. Same as the 4th Gen. Some do it some don't

My 18 didn't do what the 19 doing. Not going to mess with the stops.

That's fine. The HeavyDuty has had an aluminum hood since 2010. Adjusting the bump stops has helped.

Sometimes a good heavy shut helps too.
Gotcha! I live in a pass area where the wind is constant. Just can't help to wonder if it's just going fold up over the windshield someday ‍♂️

My 2015 does it at highway speeds. My 2013 probably did too...but I never noticed. I also never noticed my 2015 did it either, til I read about it here and paid attention to it.

It sucks when you notice something annoying a truck does, cause then you concentrate on it and it becomes obsessive.

I feel your pain, hope it gets better with the next oil change. One can hope.

Also, I think there was a issue with the 1500s not having the proper adhesion of the cross members of the hood and that there may have been a TSB issued for this.

Funny. They must have figured out how to make a magnet stick to aluminum then if my ‘17 has an aluminum hood.
Yup. 2019 is the first year for aluminum hoods on the HDs. Only the 1500s have been using aluminum in the previous years.

Thanks for catching my mistake. I thought both got aluminum hoods with the 4th Gen. Never checked mine. What I get for assuming.

I deeply apologize for not checking this. Spending time between the 5th Gen Forum and here really got my self in a pickle.

Do not know what I saw when I fact checked myself...but a magnet sure sticks to my hood...but it also does the flutter at speed and in crosswinds.

Always open to learning something. Lately I have been trying to learn too much.

Thanks again for finding my error.

I read about this on this site, but I just took a 1,600 mile journey with mine across the country and while it moved a bit like any car ive owned at highway speeds it was not bad at all.
