I ordered a 2025 3500 Limited which arrived on saturday. I went to look at it and it's missing the Aux switches which I need. I ordered it with Limited 1 equipment group and "Towing Tech plus Group" which included Aux Switches prep. There is a dedicated panel mounted aux switch option, but it gets deactivated when you select the "Towing Tech Plus Group". It's clearly one of the included features in that group. sure enough the truck showed up without aux switches.

Dealer is at a loss on why. Does anyone know whats going on?

That’s the wiring “prep”. Meaning the wires and fuse box are there if you want to add later. You can’t get the towing tech plus and aux together.

If you get the trailer steering, you can’t get the switches. I believe it’s because of the room.

DBlackwell is right guys.

When you select the Tow tech Plus group, the mechanical AUX switches go away and they become digital switches on the touch panel instead. Thanks Dblackwell.

It’s not missing, it’s not able to be ordered with your other options. That should have been obvious when you placed the order.

It’s not part of the towing tech plus group, and any dealer with decent knowledge will know that. Aux switches cannot be ordered with the towing tech plus group as they are incompatible with each other.

You likely can remove the gimmicky trailer reverse steering and add them thou.

How silly is that trailer reverse steering… that should not even be a thing. It takes up room for important and useful features. Plus I prefer the entertainment at boat launches when the driver does not have that crap to rely on

Yeah, what genius at Ram thought trailer reverse steering was more important on a HD truck than aux switches.

Why soneone would need that instead of taking a couple hours of practicing backing up if needed is behond me

I had trailer reverse on my 2023 and never really used it. I'm also going to be looking at how to add the Aux switches after... losing that knob or not.

Let's not start down that path of blanket criticism. It's not constructive to the OP's question or topic of Aux Switches.

AFAIK, the equipment is required if you want to get the DRVM 3.0 with side mirror display. That's the colossal F* up here.

Do you have these on your truck? Please share a pic.

It’s more of just surprise things like that exist, not really ment to put anyone down. Sorry if thats the way it was perceived

The aux buttons on the screen are for auxiliary cameras. The prep only comes with the wiring.

Baja Designs has an sPOD coming that works with Apple Car play.

Otherwise… put switches in the real estate of the 4x4 control…

Correct. That would be my assumption. Just looking to confirm something didn't change.

Not picking on @regal2800 but part of this comment is incorrect, "When you select the Tow tech Plus group, the mechanical AUX switches go away and they become digital switches on the touch panel instead."

Stuff like this gets picked up by the search bots/AI and adds to the misinformation we've all seen with search results and AI.

I have attached a pic of my dash. on the 2025+ the Aux switches are only 4 instead of the 6. To the right of the trailer reverse knob, you can see another blank plate which looks to be exactly the size of the aux 4 switch. so I dont see why it shouldn't fit. I have to pull the infotainment panel off and see whats behind to know for sure.
The 2nd picture is from ram builder website. You can see that the AUX switches is only 4 and there is a gap between the switches and the trailer brake controller. (The gap looks exactly like the size of the trailer reverse controller.).

Yes, you are right. The AUX on the digital screen is for the cameras.

I don’t see any reason why the the 4-switch bank couldn’t be added while retaining the trailer reverse steering knob with the 14” screen (except there’s currently no way to program them to work if you do add them).
It says the tow technology plus group comes with the auxiliary switches prep, so I’m curious what exactly that is. Is your truck’s auxiliary fuse box fully populated with fuses and relays and the two gray 4-way connectors mounted to the outside of the box, or does it just have the three relays and fuses for the cabin heater?
Did you get the supplemental bag of aux wiring with the truck?

The programming part would likely be under the commercial settings on the dash. I believe you have to add the fuses and relays, the wiring is just there with the fuse box. You probably have to purchase the supplemental bag when you purchase the switch panel.

I'll send some pics tonight of that particular fuse box and the wiring harness I got.

But yes, the tow tech plus group does come with the aux switches prep. I just have no idea what that is lol.

I'm in the same boat. I just got a Limited with the same config. I have the reverse knob but only got it because I wanted the side cameras. If we can figure this out, I'd love to add the aux buttons. Physically, it looks like there's space for it.
