Hello all,

I have a 2025 Ram 4500 with the Laramie Package. I just picked up back up from the dealer for a couple issues, one being it was totally dead Monday when I went to start it, then freaked out the whole way to the dealer after I got it jumped. They did a couple updates and performed the two recalls. That seems to have fixed whatever the battery issue was and the trailer brake lights flashing and going wild.

My first issue/question really throws me for a loop. This is my 3rd 6.7 with DPF. I have 4k miles on it, most all of them empty/unloaded. Even when I'm loaded, it's only about 3500#'s, just my little rock buggy on the flat bed/deck. The DPF gauge has NEVER read above 0%. Even if I let it sit there and idle, it will never get above 0%. From my previous 6.7 experiences, that is absolutely not correct. When I brought it back up to the service advisor today at Chapman Ram in Scottsdale, his response was, "oh well that's good then, just drive it". I'm thinking, get real dude, something is not right with it...

The other issue is, even with the Laramie package, it has no TPMS or TPIS??? My buddies basic Big Horn 4500 even has TPIS and he can see all his tire pressures on his dash. Mine apparently doesn't have sensors at all according to the dealer, and they cannot be added since it has no TPMS receiver and no previsions to plug one in? Does that sound right?

Thanks for any input!

-Tom

I found another thread that answers my question about the TPMS, it's simply not on the 2025/2026's, which is half insane to me but oh well. Mostly curious about the DPF always reading 0% though, that just doesn't make sense to me.

From what I am seeing on the 2025+ trucks you all got stuck with TPMS.

As for the DEG gauge I am with your dealer service write...Just drive it and forget about the DPF screen. Can you leave it up all the time on the 2025+ trucks....worst design ever.

I had a 2024 chevy DRW 3500 and they dont even have a DPF screen....why? Becuase its futile to watch that screen.

You will be ok.

Okay cool, I mean, it's under warranty so oh well I suppose. Lol Funny too, I had a 2024 GMC Ultimate dually before this. I added a Bank's iDash thing to it so I could watch it. I liked being able to see when it was getting full or about to regen and tell me to keep driving. I could just run it harder and get the percentage down before it told me to keep going.

You are over thinking this...

I have seen guys with 2019-2024 mention they never see the gauge move off zero...but is that really true - are they watching it 100% of the time....

Don't worry about interrupting regens. If these trucks get the point where it says keep driving - you are already to late(you cant prevent if this will happen in my opinion)and probably headed for warranty work...but this is what the manual says:

● Exhaust Regeneration In Process Continue Driving
— If the DPF reaches 70% full, this message will
display with a chime when the regeneration mode
is automatically engaged while the vehicle is being
driven at a suitable speed. This will repeat every
three minutes while the DPF is self-cleaning, until
the particulate level is reduced to zero. If time or
circumstances do not allow the vehicle to continue
to be driven, the system will resume regeneration at
its next opportunity and will redisplay this message.

● Exhaust Filter Full — Power Reduced See Dealer —
This message displays if the DPF reaches 100%
full. It will be accompanied by the Malfunction
Indicator Light (MIL) and a chime. Engine power
will be reduced. At this point, regeneration is no
longer possible and the vehicle should be taken to
an authorized dealer as soon as possible to have
the DPF manually cleaned. In extreme cases, a
completely full DPF can damage the exhaust system,
requiring part replacements. For these reasons, never let the DPF reach 100% full.

I have never seen this message. I daily drive my truck...short trips...idle....maybe tow 6 times a year.

My 2020 5500 always seems to read 0% DPF, too. I run my truck real hard towing, so i thought it meant I was keeping my DPF real hot & clean, but I think the sensor isn’t reading correctly.
