2024 Order Tracking & Discussion

@brv10

What is the trailer surround view camera system? I was under the impression it was 4 cameras to mount to your trailer? Koons doesn't really have a clear answer for me. I was kind of expecting to receive the four camera system. But the information out there is very conflicting for me to really come to a conclusion one way or another.
That's what it should be.

It is EXTREMELY confusing. I got tricked by the descriptions and I even did forum research and watched Ram videos and read the descriptions again. I have the trailer 360 camera system sitting in a box (4 cameras and breakout control module) that I don't plan to ever install. It is unclear to me whether it came with option XN1 or AAN.

All I wanted was the digital rear view mirror with the 2 side surround cams (built into the tow mirrors) and wired rear trailer camera, which I added. I thought I had to order XN1 to get the correct control module under the drivers seat and the coax connector on my bumper. To me, that is "surround view" whereas the tops down view with 4 cameras I would call a "360 view".

Option AAN sounded like the requirement to get the reverse guidance views, and the 360 cameras of the vehicle, and is a prerequisite for getting option AVS where I wanted the digital rear view mirror with side views. Cargo cam sounded like a bonus to me. Looking back, they perhaps meant 360 views of the TRAILER not the vehicle, and this forced that 4 camera system on me? But that seems silly to force 4 cameras on buyers that just want to add option AVS (the digital rear tri-mode and reverse knob).

Anyway, now I am the proud owner of a box of 4 cameras (that I'll likely sell NIB) and a 12 pin connector on my bumper. And still don't know which option did what.

I specifically got the one you have in the first picture. This should include the cameras to mount on the trailer, correct?

My window sticker says "Surround View Camera System $995." When I touch the button my dash it displays this. Leaving me to believe I am missing the feature without the cameras.

Post your build sheet and we can figure this out. Do you have option AAN "Tow Technology Group"? That one specifically says "4 cameras for 360 view of vehicle".

Also, I have a 7 pin (trailer) connector, a coax connector (for the wired single rear trailer cam) and a 12 pin connector for the super mega 4 camera trailer 360 all on my bumper. See what connections you have.

And no, you do not get the single rear trailer cam XH7 with any package, you have to add it to your build. And mopar says sold out if you try to add it later. When one gets listed on ebay it always sells quickly.

Here is the sheet.

I have the 360 view with cargo view and all the connectors in my bumper and bed for a 5th wheel, but I didn't order the trailer cameras and I don't have backup assist.

Did you guys check in the 2022 Ram Tow/Trailer Camera options thread? Jimmy07 knows a lot about this subject.

Oh, yes I do have the two connectors in the back of my truck. One set in the bed for a fifth wheel and one set on the bumper.

Definitely! That's where I learned a ton. There are over 40 pages in there, its a lot to read. Also it was started right around the time cameras and control modules changed a bit (2022). I had the "Trailer Surround Camera System" as part of my order based on what the Ram build and price said because I didn't want to risk not getting the view I wanted. It does appear that XN1 gets the 4 camera system (that only works at low speeds) that displays only on the UC5 screen. In hindsight, that's the one I could have left off, if the tri-mode view comes with either tow tech plus or limited longhorn equipment 1.

The picture you posted of the 4 camera box shows 82216421AB while mine is same part number with AD. Unclear if there is a difference in only a few years or AD just means a newer firmware or silicon revisions with same plugs and functionality.

Wait, so you got XN1 and AAN and *still* didn't get the 4 camera system?? What connectors did you get? And do you have the trailer steering knob?

I have tow tech plus and wired tow camera on top of yours.
I did not get the trailer steering knob either but I'm pretty sure that part is correct but at this point I have no idea.

AB to AD is probably a firmware update

Truck says built on 5/23, est delivery 6/11 , still not shipped. Any reason why a built truck isn't shipped or is shipping just not updated?

In a post ask brv10 if he can check on it for you and provide your vin, he has been great at looking for folks.

do you by any chance have the scoop on 3C63RR ? has been complete but not shipped for a week or so. Is shipping usually delayed in updating or in fact a reason for not shipping?

Just an update It took 4 weeks from order to arrival at dealership, The ram tracking Estimate still showed 2 weeks left and it was listed as Built but not shipped yet, so it is fairly inaccurate. It switched to "shipped" two days after dealership had it on the lot.
