2024 6.4 Exhaust ideas

I'm surprised at how the stock exhaust sounds on my Big Horn as is. It sounds close to my old 2021 1500 Hemi. I'm not too happy about the location of the stock tip. At some point I will be doing the resonator delete and relocating the tip.

My buddy has this on his service body ram and i always thought it sounded good. It retains the factory tailpipe and resonator.

Anyway back to exhaust.. I’ve been checking reviews and videos on the borla s type and I may be starting to believe the “no drone” or at least minimal.

I’ve seen a lot of positive reviews and minimal negative remarks.

I cant put videos here but this week if you want I could email you or text a video or two of my S-type. Youde have to message me your number or email

anyone who has bought a borla S type with the black tip having a issue with the paint comming off the tip?? Mine is onlly about a month old and there is a large amount that came off looks due to excessive heat?

Is it possible you cleaned it with the wrong stuff?
This system comes with a 5" round black chrome on T-304 stainless steel tip. A system with a bright chrome on T-304 stainless steel tip is also available. Using BORLA® Stainless Steel Polish p# 21461 is NOT recommended with these black chrome tips. We suggest cleaning the tips with hot water and a microfiber cloth.

When I first bought the truck I cleaned the OEM exhaust pipe and put on a coat of stove pipe black heat spray paint and it discolored bad but about a year ago I redid it and now its fine.
So maybe try to use the stove pipe paint as an option.
I guess only if your looking for a flat black look that is.

I would definitely contact Borla and see what they say. It doesn't even look like the was ever any black on there at all. Sadly, it looks like it's welded on vs clamped, so not an easy fix.

It’s a nice looking tip……

It almost looks like it has that stainless tuner look to it. Like rainbow colored once it gets some heat to it. I know a bunch of the Subaru tails look that way. It may the pic too. I’m over worked and under appreciated. Ignore me lol.

I put some stainless headers on a truck and they did the rainbow thing and it looked pretty cool. Not sure if I’d want the rainbow thing if I expected black, though.

Just curious if anyone else had this issue? Would it make any difference i have a cold air intake and throttle body spacer? Is it getting to hot? I really dont understand it.

Your truck came stock with a true Cold Air Intake.

Does your aftermarket one take cold air from the outside? Or hot air from the engine compartment?

Either way, they are not causing the exhaust to be hotter.
