2024 6.4 Exhaust ideas

I don’t believe any of the no drone claims
I question these claims too.

I would like to see/hear a video of the exhaust system(s) at 1700-2000 RPM at around 55 to 60 miles per hour with MDS operating.

Note I have 4.10 axle ratio and that’s the RPM when the factory system drones with the MDS active however, 3.73 gears may be somewhat higher speed wise.

Absolutely gained something from the setup, definitely feels peppier.
Placebo effect is real. Thats just trying to justify spending 1k+ on just sound. Like @Rockcrawlindude dont believe the no drone, dont believe you feel anything ether.
Sincerely someone who has had MUTIPLE exhaust set ups including a borla cat back system myself, buddy has a borla system currently and uncle own a muffler/tire shop of over 14 years. Feels exactly the same as any other exhaust set up.

No, removed the resonator and back. Used the pipe left to construct a new exhaust and added a black tip. My exhaust guys machine would not bend 3 1/2" pipe. Cost me $100.

Can you post a photo by what you mean when they "tucked it up there" please. Ive checked your photos and build sheet and you have good photos its just Id like to see a angel from the side of the truck looking through the wheel well from your tire view and under how you bent the pipe.

Yep, you are right. Total waste of money, nothing gained and lots of drone. I just needed you to tell me that for me to suddenly realize the error of my ways. Guess I’ll just have to live with it…

Exhaust/drone tolerance is a very subjective thing. Some are bothered by nothing….ask the Harley guy with shorty pipes and says he can’t even hear it! Others hear and feel every little change in tone.

If you are happy with the set up….cheers.

He didn't bend any pipe. His machine wouldn't do 3 1/2 inch pipe. So we used the pipe we cut off from the resonator to piece it in with the new tip.

Much better look on the tip!

I also have the Borla on mine. And can confirm there is no drone. Just muscle car rumble on start up, mild purr driving easy and all out roar when you floor it. I also feel like it woke up my low end. Gas mileage suffered cuz I like the sound when you stand on it.

Same experience I’ve had with mine. I bought mine brand new in the box for $600 on Facebook. For that price I couldn’t pass it up. Well worth the money for me.

The all out roar when on it is my concern when towing plus 16,000 total weight.

I want to believe it. At over a grand for a tailpipe and muffler it better have no drone. Wish I could test drive it before I

At no point in the RPMs is it obnoxious. The exhaust is more on the mild side, but great note while accelerating. At highway speed you can’t even hear it. It’s a safe bet for all uses.

I’m more than happy with my diesel tailpipe I bought for $60, best way to do the resonator delete while going to 4”, wish I had a way to post a video, pretty sure I’m the only person that has done it this way…IMG_3651.jpegIMG_3649.jpeg

I like that and have thought about it, but I was thinking about doing the cut just in front of the resonator.

Was the diesel pipe hanger in the right place for the gas hanger?

The hanger on the diesel pipe is in the exact same spot as the gas, the diesel tailpipe is 4” from just in front of the hanger back, 3 1/2” in front to the expanded end. The expanded end will need to be cut off as it is made to go over 4”, then you will have to find a shop that can expand 3 1/2”. The original Hemi tailpipe will need to be cut just before the second bend from the muffler to retain the angle from the muffler, really wish I would have taken more pictures of the process…
