2022 Ram HD - Post delivery upgrade plans

Need a bed! Its a 5500 cab and chassis. Going with Aluminum CM SK flatbed painted to match the truck and Linex sprayed on the flat deck. Also installing a Torklift SUPER HITCH® Magnum 30K instead of the tiny 2" inch bumper receiver built into the CM bed.

Running Boards (I didn't order factory)
Window Tint
PPF Film for bumper
Tonneau Cover
Drop Hitch

I'm sure more will follow once I have the truck for a bit; but this list will get done in the first week.

Wheel to wheel side steps since for some reason they cannot be ordered from the factory.

First post - truck should arrive by the end of the month From AEV. I’ll be doing the following pretty quickly:
  • New wheels/tires
  • tint
  • Rock lights and front bumper lights (either Rigid 20” or 4xBaja Designs LP9 Pro)
  • Titan 52-gal tank
  • Nuthouse Industries bed rack, recoiling bed cover, bed slide
  • iKamper Skycamp 2.0
Can’t wait! This is my first RAM, first HD, first diesel, first AEV.

Not sure who told you by the end of the month but good luck with that! When did you order it? I realize you said "should" but don't hold your breath, lol

Ha - no worries there. AEV sent me photos of the completed truck yesterday, one of the first to have their new 8100 remote resi shocks installed. Now it’s just waiting on transport. Truck was ordered first week of February, a little more than 6 months ago.

Here she is:

Wow, that's awesome, congrats! I thought you were expecting to get a '22 by the end of the month and why I made that comment and was like there's no way it'll show up that quickly if the order was just placed, this is a '22 thread after all.

Well, it would help if I really thought about the title of the thread before posting and creating confusion. Did I mention I’m new here? Lol.

Looks amazing!!! Just curious, why are you getting rid of the wheels and tires from AEV?

Thanks! I'm really excited to get it and get out on some trails.

I wanted to go with a wider tire (15.5) and a more negative offset. Interestingly, the larger combo will also reduce unsparing mass - combined weight of AEV Katla and Toyo M/T 40x13.50r17 is about 140#. New combination will be 136#. Not huge, but every little bit helps.

Photo below isn't my truck, but gives an indication of what the new offset/tire width will look like.

Before I leave the dealer lot I have a 12" screen protector going on.

When I get home from the quick 1200 mile road trip from Mark Dodge the first things will be ceramic coat, paint protection film, window tint, and bed liner.

After that I'll take a little more time to plan my next moves but wheels/tires are in the plan, as well as a level kit most likely.

snayte,

May I ask what is your source? Ordered my 3500 CC w/ whl to whl (Code MY5 Flat / Painted) on July 12. Emailed the Dealer rep Friday w/ no status or order updates.

Be safe,
Randy

The dealer could not add them to my build (2022 2500 Longhorn) every time he would add them the Longhorn equipment package was added which include power running boards (so the fixed ones would get replaced). I confirmed the same thing would happen on the Costco builder. Seems like a bug in the system.

Got to love the automatic packages. I stepped down from the Limited to the Laramie w/ Night Package and was able to pick the painted whl to whl. Changing the trim level allowed me to build what I wanted , with minimal compromise, and minimal required add-ons.

Yeah, but wanted the Longhorn, I like the 1500 version I have now. I will just need to get some steps is all. Maybe since it was a $0 option they are standard and the builder is just dumb. (I know wishful thinking)

35" BFG's to replace the 33" GoodYears.
Ceramic window tint all around.
Replaced the factory rock sliders with AMP Power steps. Couldn't find a way to have both.
Deleted the ugly resonator and tucked the exhaust pipe up where it should be with a black tip.
Screen protector on the 12" screen.
Tri Fold soft bed cover.
ALPHAOBD to program in a few things.
Installed a VHF radio for my race team support.
Got a recovery kit for the warn winch.
Did the back seat mod so the seat back fold down.

Just ordered Fox Factory front shocks for my truck, I seemed to get the last available in stock set. Will be pairing with Thuren front springs for leveling and some 35" Goodyear Duratrack tires.

Haven't figured out the rear suspension yet, as the fox 2.5 shocks are on 6mo backorder, king 8-10 month backorder. Might just go thru thuren as well and go with the Fox 2.0

Damn, may want to get a couple quotes on that. Local detailer is doing mine for $1000 on a buddy deal, normally $1200 and included paint correction as well

Yeah, its expensive there is no doubt. I have a Hellcat that I had done 4 years ago (2 coats ~1600) and it beads water today as well as it did the day after it was done. On the other hand, I had the dealer (who used a local detail shop) do my PW with a "2 coat" (I used quotes because I dont believe it for a second) for $1000, and 4 months in it is back to not beading water at all. Not saying your dealer is the same, just saying be careful just going for cheap. I now have an appointment for the 13th at the place that did my cat so they can do it right.

And back on the main topic, I had 4 months to wait for my truck once I ordered it. I had large pile of boxes stacking up in the garage filled with parts. Finally got them all on...except the ARB compressor, because those are unobtainium right now (but I have all the accessories for it)

Oh, I supposed I didnt list them:

AMP Powersteps
Randy Ellis light bar
4 x LP9s
2 x S2 Pros mounted in Rear bumper
sPod
Locking "Cooler" lid
LED Light strips for bed
Tinted windows
Ceramic Coating (failed attempt as mentioned above, but going back in)
Factor 55 ultra hook
Warn wireless winch controller
ARB compressor (on backorder)
