Just picked up our new 2021 Ram 2500 Big Horn with Sport Package and didn't notice until a couple of days later that both corners of the front bumper have some ripples or dimples near the fog lamps.

See attached pics and let me know if I am just being picky or I should complain to the dealer. It doesn't look like impact damage and more like imperfections in the bumper mold. Any other known quality issues on the front bumper?

This has been discussed here before although I just searched for one thread I remember and I could not find it. On both the 2021, 3500s I purchased and a friend purchased, we have the same thing just to a lesser degree. On mine it is only on drivers side and hard to notice, on his it is more noticeable. Yours is certainly much worse than mine and I believe worse than my friend's also. I think yours looks bad enough to be warranty fixed. The driver's side for sure should never have gotten through inspection at the factory. Why would they even put on a bumper with that obvious a defect?

Good luck with that.
He's gotta try one way or another to get that resolved. I would fight for it. Thankfully I haven't had the need to get anything covered under warranty like this with FCA. Hopefully it's not gonna be a hassle.

Thanks, all. I reached out to the dealership to start the warranty process and see if it can be replaced.

I noticed the same on mine (also 2021 Ram 2500 with Sport Package). Mine is definitely not as bad as yours, but there are a couple of very small imperfections... at first I thought it had been dented, but I can't see any sign of a repair job, so I am thinking the factory mold must just be "off"? Let us know how you go with warranty.

I noticed the same thing on my 2021 2500 Sport. I have looked at a couple of newer 2500s with chrome bumpers and some of them have the same ripple in the same location. Following this thread.

Just noticed mine yesterday, driver side fog light. Sucks because now I know it’s there ha but not a huge deal for me as I’m sure the hassle with trying to get a whole new bumper wouldn’t be fun.

Looks like we all have the same issue... curious now on your build dates? Mine was May 4, 2021.

How do you determine the build date? My VIN tag says 4/21

I know of a 3500 with this issue and a build date of 4/2/21. My truck also has it but much more minor and easy to ignore than a lot of the photos here. My build date was 3/20/21.

I'm using the date that my Window Sticker popped up as the build date (whether or not that is accurate I'm not sure) - my door jam sticker says 05/21 (Month).

The month is likely enough to go on, I am just thinking if there is a correlation between all of us with the defects and the build month, then maybe it helps warranty cases?

So I checked my bumper again, and its almost exactly the same, in the exact same spot. You can actually feel the imperfections in the panel as you run your hand across it.... mine is less noticeable in a photo maybe due to the 3M wrap which was applied at the dealer.

Does anyone know if there is potentially an explanation for this? Perhaps due to where the bumper attaches to the frame behind?

On my build sheet it has a date of 4/29
I'm going to bring this up with my dealer also.

I have seen other new vehicles with panel stamp issues (F150s are bad for this) so maybe its just "normal" due to the molding around the fog lamps?

OP, hope your dealer listened to your concern? Please let us know how you got on and what they are saying? Thank you!

Has anyone brought this up with their dealer yet? I had paint guy who does new work for the dealer look at mine to provide his opinion - he says all Ram bumpers he has seen have some imperfections like this.
