Thanks for the pictures. Your truck looks great. Mine will be pearl white so I’m a little unsure of how the white and black will look and that angular topper/cab transition. I don’t really want the truck to look like it’s an suv either so I’m torn.

Not quite a 1:1 but here is a 4th gen that I follow on the gram who has a RSI cap. I believe his cap was from the 1500s, and the updated cap for the 2500 sit ever so slightly higher and follow the lines a bit better. I've got the updated RSI cap, although my truck is grey, so if I can remember I'll snag some photos. Here is a picture (link to insta post).

There is a video on YouTube for the install of that cap. I think he mentioned it was for a 1500. The fit at the cab from that video is what got me wondering about the cab cap transition. I was hoping the updated cap would follow the cab lines better. I’d love pics if you get around to it.

Those pictures are perfect. Very nice looking. Thank you so much for getting all the angles. I think I’m sold. If the wife hates the black topper on a white truck bad enough I guess I’ll have it painted. I heard from a dealer they plan to start paint matching the caps again in the future but he couldn’t give me a date and it didn’t sound like it would be anytime soon. Thanks again everyone for the help.

I noticed from the picture of the tailgate the door seals against the top edge of the gate rather than overlapping like most fiberglass topper doors. Does it seem like it will seal well?

Well I installed it on Saturday and we got over an inch of rain Sunday - Monday. I have a tiny leak at the front left of the bed that I am going to address. I think the foam filler didnt quite seal right. My fault. the tail gate was fine. the fit is currently tight enough that the tailgate wont drop when released. the only issue I see is where the door seal and the side seal meet. I think I cut mine a little short so just be careful when installing. And definitely get 4 people to do it. 3 was doable but hard. 4 would have been easier.

Check out the thread I mentioned above from SFAngus. He has a carpet kit in the back and I think he sealed his up pretty well.

I talked to a dealer today who said the texas plant is scheduled to be up and running in July and that is probably when that all happens. My buddy ran his thru a car wash every day and said the only place it leaked was the vent on top but it was only a few drops.

That would be perfect if that happens. I could hold off till then for a color matched one. I noticed we both have MT in our names. What part of the state are you in?

yes it has changed immensely and not for the better..I have been here all of my 63 years and it is only going to get worse.

my youngest daughter lives in bozo and just bought a house (closed on Friday) in Three Forks and prices are absolutely stupid. I guess it could be worse my oldest lives in Boise and a few years ago she was offered the house they were renting for $480000 and they decided to wait as they want to get back to Missoula and it sold and the house is now $1.2 million. Property here is going up like 20% a year. Never thought I would live in a million dollar house....realtor told my daughter if you want a house you need to offer $70,000 over asking price if you want any chance of getting it...it is nothing for a starter home to be over $400K hell there are trailer houses on rented lots that are $100000.....nutso

It’s beyond crazy. I bought my house in ‘06 before the crash and it was so crazy everyone said it can’t continue. Now it’s like 10x worse everywhere in MT. Looking in Whitefish now and it’s a joke. People are just asking ridiculous amounts and seeing if dumb out of staters will pay. Houses that were sold 2 years ago for 400k are now asking 900.
