In the last week or so I've noticed when I remote start the truck in the cold it has an extremely erratic idle for about 5-10 minutes then it will smooth out. And when I say cold, it's really not that cold compared to what many deal with, I'm talking mid to low 30's.
When I first noticed it last week I could hear it running funny while I was inside at work getting ready to leave but I thought it was just the sound coming through the building weird. Today when I heard it was worse and my mother and grandparents heard it and they wanted to know what was wrong with it. My grandfather said it sounded like it was missing and trying to stall. From what I heard it definitely sounded like it was running very rough with the rpms surging and stumbling.
It's like it's trying to go into high idle to warm up but it can't and stumbles for some reason. I'm going to try and get a video of it tomorrow morning before I leave for work. Usually at night I park it in the garage and don't remote start it, but I do notice when I'm backing out of the garage the truck kinda surges or bucks a little bit until it warms up.
Any thoughts? The only thing I that came to mind is maybe I gotta plug it in, but I really don't think it's cold enough for that around here.
