I went with the Toyo tires. I've towed several times now and like how the tire handle the loads from 12k to 25k.
Unless I buy a heavier camper, my heavy tow days are done as my friend I towed equipment trailers for has retired.
It seems that every trip I take over 1000 miles, someone will cut over in front of me, and then traffic stops from 70 MPH to stopped. I'll stick with the Curt 5th wheel hitch. I usually run a speed, up to 70, that will allow me to set my cruise control. Usually about 68 MPH. Some folks in their...
I went with Toyo, in the stock size, on my 2020 RAM 3500 dually diesel LB CC. I just towed a 12K toy hauler 1000 miles. Replaced all 6 tires (one tire was just replaced and became my spare). Toyo tire have the deepest tread for road tires. I do not do off severe road stuff. But I do use 4 wheel...
I got this code this evening. I thought I had had this code on my 2013 RAM 2500 diesel previously. Now I have it on my 2020 RAM 3500 diesel dually. I reset the code, changed the air filter (35,000 miles on it), and drove it for 10+ miles. No more codes. Now I'll change my air filter every other...
Getting ready for 6 new tires on my 2020 RAM 3500. Only got 33,000 on this set. I am probably going with Michelin tires this time around. But will add Centramatic wheel balancers front and rear. I have a set on my Harley and they seem to have extended the life of those tires by 1/3. Hoping for...
I am curious as I am getting ready to start the process in North Carolina. But getting an appointment is difficult and out there. And on the phone they do not know about the non-CDL class A, or could tell me the process and requirements.
Anyone done this since covid? Covid seems to have changed...
I have had folks tell me that their 4-6 inch lifted truck tow 5th wheels just fine. I go places where I contemplate 9 inches of bed rail clearance as the current 7 inches gets close at times.
The height of the many of the new(er) toy hauler is already at 13' 6". That's why I asked. My 2008 toy hauler is under 13 feet (measured). Specifications stated 12'5" but I was not sure so I measured. I do have one size larger tire for now. When it is time for new tires again I will return to...
On my 2500 RAM diesel, I put on Michelin tires and they wore well and handled the load of my 5th wheel which was at 90% capacity for the truck. I got a coupon for Firestone tires so I decided to try them. Those tires at 80 PSI heated up and increased the temp to where the TPMS read **. I have...
I have always been a function over form guy. While most of my friends had "cool looking seats" on their motorcycles, I had a seat that kept me comfortable for hundreds of miles.
And as far as I know, Michelin is still a top tier brand. But the Toyo has the deepest tread and tend to last longer...
Will be staying with the stock tires of 235/80R17. Looking at Toyo and Michelin tires. I usually tow a 12K toy hauler. But do get calls to haul a friends equipment trailer that weighs 24K every couple months.
I do not do off road. So I am looking for road tires. Got 35K on the stock tires.

What I do know is that someone I personally know, purchased a vehicle from out of state in 2010. I drove them to the emmisions place to drop off and pick up their truck. Because it was a new vehicle, They had to have it inspected and verified to pass CARB. Apparently then not every truck (1500...
