Fuel getting into crankcase during the regen cycle. Raw diesel getting past the piston rings. The more frequent the regen cycling, the more raw diesel in the cylinders and leaking into the crankcase. More diesel in oil means less ability for the oil to lubricate and seal. This has to rapidly...
Another update,
My DPF with daily driving was showing almost to the point where it normally starts a regen.
I towed my boat and instead of going through with a regen the DPF gauge started incrementally dropping till it reached zero.
This seems to me the way it should function, passive cleaning...
Another update. My last Regen cycle occurred after 752 miles .
So, since using the Archoil 6400D I have gone from as few as under 200 miles per regen to in this last instance 752 miles. I
I have my fingers crossed hoping for an additional increase in miles driven. If not, I’m still traveling...
I have an update on my truck. I have almost 300 miles on my odometer since the last regen. My DPF dash gauge shows 0, absolutely no reading what so ever. My driving habits have not changed and the only difference is as suggested I used Archoil 6400D in my last fill up. My last several regen...
Air filter is what is recommended on the TSB referenced earlier. 53034051AB
Have not yet pulled and inspected the MAF. I will verify that it is 68444077AA and if not I will replace it with that part
Do not know about the oil life reset.
I do know that I am at approximately 240 mostly freeway miles since the last and it will regen again the next time I drive it
Another thing about this issue discussed here is what percentage of 2022 6.7 truck owners are members of this forum? Maybe 1% of the 1% who have the frequent regen problem?
If so we have two people here with the problem who live in the same small town, what are those odds?
My buddies said the same thing. I could not find a way to use a water tight penetration for the cables. The connectors are large, well over double the width of the cables. I have never used this type of connector and the special tools required to remove the pins in this connector were about $70...
Update from my install. I went with the “Plug and Play” EOH system purchased directly from Hydrastar. Factory brake controller works as shown on the Hydrastar website, CAM module is not needed. I fabricated a box to protect and hide the cables.
My 2022 2500 set to Heavy EOH and brake level...
I just poured in the 6400D and filled the tank this morning. I then immediately took the truck on a drive on the freeway back and forth over a grade between Los Gatos and Santa Cruz. The DPF went from 0 to about 25% then dropped to about half that. These percentages are “guesstimates”. The bad...
My truck has never made it in the 15 months and 17,000 miles that I have owned it further than about 500 miles without going into regen because of soot loading. As far as I know it has never gone into regen due to engine hours. I stated earlier it can complete a regen on the freeway and within...
Truck is using extra fuel with frequent regens. Fuel here in CA is close to $5 a gallon. When the truck goes into a regen, I need to drive an extra 20 miles or so for no other reason on the freeway because you shouldn’t stop the drive cycle during regen process. Waste of fuel, and time.
My DPF gauge has never showed a lesser percentage of soot after showing a reading. The gauge climbs steadily, and it does not matter if I am driving 70mph unloaded, driving 60mph towing my boat up a long grade or driving 25-35mph in town. Once that gauge starts moving it has only climbed higher...
Yesterday afternoon when I started the truck it showed the same about 12-1/2% on the DPF gauge. After driving about 5 miles and one stop I drove on the freeway again and looked at the gauge and it showed 0%. This was after about 5 minutes of driving at 72mph.
WTH is this thing doing?
Recalls:
55B ABS control module software
Y43 Particulate matter sensor
Dealer had my truck for two full days plus 3 hours this morning. I was told that there were no active or stored trouble codes.
They completed 2 regens (Forced?) the second this morning that took 80 minutes.
After the...
I noticed the shorter time, mileage regen frequency after bringing the truck in to the dealer for warranty recalls.
According to this attachment I need to confirm that I have the correct MAF sensor.
I tow my boat which is about 8000lbs around once month total drive is anywhere from 75-225 miles. The 75 mile route has a grade I cross twice about 10 miles in each direction.
I mis spoke about my engine rpm increasing. What I notice is when in town driving during a regen my truck sounds...
I have a 22 with 36000 miles and my regens for the past few weeks have become more frequent. On my dash gauge I will see 0% after a regen but within 50 miles or so no matter how I am driving the gauge will start to show a % clogged. This will continue till just under 50% and then go into regen...
