Does your Cummins regenerate once per tank?

Did you just watch it for 30 minutes straight until the DPF gauge said zero?
No, I drove it around and looked at the time from when the message appeared till it then indicated it was completed. Honestly and sad to say I didn't know about the DPF gauge at that point. Coming from a 2006 3500 5.9 where there were no such things.

Not sure why you have to stoop to childish insults, but if 1% of the 22's had this issue, that would be a large number of trucks.

They are not insults...but sarcasm...I know its difficult on the internet for some to discern. I don't even remember what the part was that was removed...If it were a true insult I would have rembered LOL

I am talking all Ram HD Diesel trucks from 2019+.

Even if its one Million of 2022......thats 10,000 trucks...not a lot of units.

Another thing about this issue discussed here is what percentage of 2022 6.7 truck owners are members of this forum? Maybe 1% of the 1% who have the frequent regen problem?
If so we have two people here with the problem who live in the same small town, what are those odds?

We can speculate this to death...one thing is certain...you wont stop it if its going to happen...so many variables as to the root cause. The owners manual states if you fail to reset your oil filter life your truck wont regen.... does that happen...it must if they wrote it in the manual.

Will additives help...maybe.

Do not know about the oil life reset.
I do know that I am at approximately 240 mostly freeway miles since the last and it will regen again the next time I drive it

The few times I have scrolled through the screens in the cluster, my DPF has never never been that much....usualy between zero and that first white line - then when i have looked a day or 2 later its back to zero. That has been the same on all the Rams I have owned.

What air filter are you using, has your MAF sensor been cleaned or replaced?

Air filter is what is recommended on the TSB referenced earlier. 53034051AB

Have not yet pulled and inspected the MAF. I will verify that it is 68444077AA and if not I will replace it with that part

I’ve said this a couple times now on another forum. For what it’s worth, probably not much, both of my local dealers have to replace DPF in the 2019 to 2024 CTDs more than anything else. They have yet to see one with lifter failure.

And with the fuel dilution in the oil from regens, I’d say that it’s a problem.

This whole process “appears” to be solved with the 2025+ with a couple people reporting how clean the oil looks after 2000 miles.

When the manufacturer issues a TSB about it, I don't think it qualifies as speculation anymore.
Does it fix it? Doesnt sound like it  This one? Can we end these threads then?

Look...most people read a thread on these issues ...get all paranoid and they go down the tracking regen rabbit hole. Then they "think" they have issues.

That's neither the air filter STAR letter nor the the DPF TSB.

You're welcome to not participate in the thread any longer if you're not interested in contributing anything worthwhile. At this point, you're just a constant source of irritation to the other members trying to discuss the issue.

I am not sure what -worthwhile- there is at his point. There are people that have had the DPF replaced(TSB: 25-005-24 GROUP: 25 - Emission Control)
and still the issue remains...then the dealer just starts replacing all the emissions components hoping to fix it. So, ya I suspect that's irritating when its pointed out that doing the same thing over is crazy.

If its not hardware it's software, probably going to take the engineers to crunch all the data from the truck to figure out why its:

1. Limited trucks affected
2. Modify the software

Wrong TSB, see my earlier post for the correct one. If you are implying that because one TSB didn't fix some issue, all TSB's are worthless, I'd disagree. I do wish this one was a recall and not a TSB though.

Sure, known phenomena. But that does not mean there is no underlying issue.

Everyone knows about issues with DEF. There is nothing anyone other than the engineers can do anything about it. It is what it is. You can address Common Causes and Symptoms. such as Low DEF, Contamination: [contaminated] DEF, Crystallization of DEF, Freezing of DEF, Pump and injector problems, Sensor and Module Malfunctions, System Tampering, nothing can be done with DEF issues. I feel the only thing an induvial can do is scheduled maintenance Such as Check DEF levels, check for any visible leaks, Conduct a comprehensive inspection of the SCR system. I feel to many Ram, Ford and GM owners worry way too much about things they have no control over and not just driving and enjoying the truck for what it is.

You know this thread isn’t about DEF/SCR, right?
