Ram Ups the Ante with 10-Year, 100K-Mile Powertrain Warranty

Do you intend to call out Granger specifically, or have you checked all the other sites like Ziegler, etc.? I expect they're all still working through the change.
Definitely not Granger or Zeigler - I’m sure it’s a Stellantis/Mopar thing…

Ram is doubling down on long-term durability and customer confidence by extending America’s best full-size truck and van limited powertrain warranty across the entire 2026 model year. The move expands the brand’s 10-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty to cover all eligible 2026 Ram trucks and vans sold in the United States and Canada—excluding full battery-electric vehicles.

Yesterday, we talked about how the Ram brand raised the bar by expanding its 10-Year/100,000-Mile Limited Powertrain Warranty across its U.S. lineup. Well, it didn’t take long for Canada to follow suit — and in true Ram fashion, it’s doing so with numbers that matter to truck and van buyers north of the border.

They could expand it to a million Mile warranty and it still doesn’t mean crap. Im going through trying to get a rear door hinge replaced. Warranty denied. Hinge shows signs of abuse according to them. Absolutely no paint gone off of the hinge, no rust or even dirt on the hinge and some lubricant on the hinge. No damage whatsoever on the vehicle.

You are not wrong. I got denied a door lock repair on a Ford Van for same reason. I was showing someone the itty bitty key scratch on the bezel Ford claimed it was vandalism. Dude thought I had lost it. Warranties are hardly worth the paper they are written on unless it is an obvious catastrophic failure or a recall. When I go have a second dealer look at my melted transmission cable since in state dealers have no service ability, I EXPECT it will be denied since I put a zip tie around it to keep it from melting further and causing loss of transmission shifting, more damage, and a tow bill for Ram. ( and me being stranded of course) So I plan to order the cable out of state, stop by and see if it will be warrantied, if not grab the part and take it home. Non Warranty is always suspected first.

And i will replay to my self as I have been shown info that the Cummins is included in the new powertrain warranty of 10/100K, but those who use there truck daily it will not mean a thing, the only ones to benefit from this new warranty are those who don't put a lot of miles the truck every year.

I pull a lot of miles, but they are short heavy-load trips, so my 2020 5500 has only 73,000 miles.. Can share weight tickets-they are kind of mind-blowing. I have another truck for “driving around” in. The extending to the 10 year part of the warranty would greatly benefit someone like myself. I only had 55,000 miles on mine when the 5 year warranty was over.
My extended Ram warranty has paid for 2 DEF tank pumps, 1 steering wheel (electric buttons broke), 1 coolant tank sensor, and 1 front wheel spindle & hub. All that was over $5,000, but I paid $3,000 to extend my bumper to bumper to 7yr/75K. So I got my money’s worth and then some.

I fixed the hinge by pushing the pin as far as it would go to the bottom and put a C clip on it to take up the slack and hold the pin down. The only part abused in this whole situation was me, the consumer. The only warranty claim I have had in two and a half years.

I’m not a schill for Ram. I am amazed to read these warranty claim denials y’all are experiencing. I have had 5 or 6 warranty claims, and not one was denied. My dealer has treated me better than I had hoped. I will probably go back and buy another Ram in the next year or so. Will look at Ford & GM, but not a fan of the V-8 diesels, no matter what they claim their HP is.
Very happy owner now for 6 years. Truck has exceeded my expectations. Not perfect, but pretty darn impressed, so far.
My dealer tech has encouraged me to keep my truck. Says newer versions are coming in for repairs more than older versions. Not exactly what I wanted to hear.

I’m pretty sure all of my problems were dealer generated. I was told by my son not to have anything to do with them. He bought a new 2018 Charger R/T from them and it had a check engine light coming on about once a week for the evap system. The dealer absolutely destroyed the vehicle working on it, taking stuff off and not putting it back. My son would have to go over everything they did and reattach stuff that they had left loose. The technician working on it scraped the insulation off of the injector wires for whatever reason and the owner told him they couldn’t fix it and to burn it. I should have known better than to even go there.

Sorry this happened to you and your son. I think I am pretty fortunate that I have a huge dealership and they have a really competent diesel tech. I stop and talk to him and I can tell by the way he talks he has a good attitude. He is overworked, but keeps my truck repaired and maintained very well. Dealer to dealer inconsistencies really hurt the brands reputation.
