Ram is raising the bar on what truck owners can expect when it comes to peace of mind. For the 2026 model year, the brand has introduced “America’s Best Full-Size Truck Limited Powertrain Warranty”—a 10-year, 100,000-mile promise that covers nearly every full-size Ram truck and van sold in the U.S.

I have yet to read that this new 10/100K warranty applies to the Cummins engines just Hemi
And i will replay to my self as I have been shown info that the Cummins is included in the new powertrain warranty of 10/100K, but those who use there truck daily it will not mean a thing, the only ones to benefit from this new warranty are those who don't put a lot of miles the truck every year.

My 2014 has 85k miles on it. A ten year warranty (assuming FCA/Ram is still around in 10 years) sounds like a major selling point in the day of "diesels are expensive and aren't reliable" being the mindset. The truck would've gotten an actuator under warranty that the previous owner had to pay for.

My dad's 2022 duramax is about to be out of warranty after 3 years. Time to order a 10L1000 valve body.

There are no warranties I trust. unless its a recall I assume repairs are not covered. That being said, this gives you a chance at least. I am sure the ZF contributes to this, along with engine revamps. The old vat of lead transmission would have been a stretch to 100K. Given other manufactures issues this would be quite expensive. Doubt other will follow soon. In 1990 my Mitsubishi came with that warranty, so not exactly ground breaking. But good.

100k miles for 10 years is not much they should up the mileage for that many years….
That is the part I don't understand. 10K miles per year? Spend close to a 100K on this pickup and not drive it? I seem to have read somewhere that folks typically average around 15k+ miles a year. If so, folks will be out of warranty in 6.6 years. Most pickup drivers I know put at least that many miles, probably more a year.

I can see how this be much easier now than before for the trucks, but the promaster ?

But not every truck owner uses there truck as a grocery getter they own a car for that, many buy a truck to tow there RV's during the summer months then drive a limited amount of miles during the cold & snow winter months, so 10K in a year is not out of the norm for many people...

Yep, I only drive my truck when I need a truck. I have other vehicles that get better gas mileage and are more maneuverable. I got a 70K mile extended warranty (service contract) when I purchased my 2024 with no time limit. I only drive my truck a few thousand miles a year so I'll probably have this truck until I don't need a truck anymore. This new warranty would have been a selling point for me.

Everyone has their own use case, reasons, and budget.

This. RV, truck stuff, hunting.

Also this. I do 4-5K year. Got a 8/60 ext warranty for time, not miles. As much for the electronics as the drivetrain.

2020 currently has just under 20K.

I sold my 2004 in 2020 with 72K. low mileage clean rust free diesels have a much greater resale value.

That said, I've been WFH since 2003, 37 mile commute to the airport a few times a month (ended that grind in March), wife works 3 miles away, and we just don't clock a lot of miles on our vehicles. We fly most anywhere we go and don't roadtrip a lot except for the RV/boating.

ETA: I still drive my 2003 A6 whenever possible and it's got 106K on the odo. Wife's 2008 Suby she refuses to give up and drives it when she's afraid to take her new SUV to the store has just over 100K. She does more miles than I running her hobby sales around town and beyond these last years, still maybe only 10K/year.

Agree that all situations with ownership vary. 14K now and have the 8/85 warranty. I am considering a 2026. Cannot get the HEMI Mega Cab, last year for that was 2022. Really like the HEMI. Maybe a PW. Might just keep it, best truck I have ever owned. Value is holding well, but it is a depreciating asset. Will see if CEO Tim has some model additions/revisions in the Fall.

Lol I am 205K at 7.5 years. If they honored that type of warranty, I would have been able to get the terrible 68fre replaced, header repairs would have cost them a fortune. I bet 20K in warranty work. Granted, they wont be dealing with transmissions now. But I can respect 100K while agreeing it should be 150K today.

My 2014 runabout dd has 188k w a little ol 3.6 gas mill while my 2022 6.7 is at 35k. Seeing this 10/100k made me have a momentary lapse of reason - thinking if so could sell my '22 and buy a '26. WTF is wrong with me?
I do not need any more new cars truck or motorcycles in this lifetime.
