Transmission filter and oil recommendations.. I have 110000 on my 19 5500

I don't have a 5500 but the opinion should be the same. OEM filter (in my case filters) and synthetic fluid. In my case Amsoil.

    Towing MPG

My '14 was tuned and missing parts. The milage averaged about 1 to 1.5 more than this one.

    Trailer "gain" setting

Yeah Raggdoll, I think your son is going to have to play with his controller. He could start at 3.5 and go from there. These 6.7 Rams have amazing slowing down power with the EB and TH. But remember, your gain should be set for stopping under normal conditions. Such as thru a neighborhood...

    Trailer "gain" setting

I'm going to say they'd be different. Yes, 'gain' is 'gain', but we must factor in the differences in how the T.V. interprets those numbers. Also, does the trailer have standard, self adjusting or hydraulic brakes? Are the brakes drum or disk? Our 5r has self adjusting brakes. Weighs 12,000...

Gooseneck ball and pucks... any preference?

I've use the Reese setup for 7 years without a problem. I do remove it once or twice a season to clean it all up. I keep a ball cover in the bed and slide it over the ball when not in use so I don't get grease on me when I'm doing something in the bed. I do like how that B&W operates that...

75 AE Power Wagon Easter Egg?

I didn't know this was a Power Wagon only thread. Especially since I have the same Easter Egg in my 3500. Now I know.

75 AE Power Wagon Easter Egg?

    I'm going to go with what b307a1 said. Ram first installed a Cummins engine in 1989. https://www.cummins.com/engines/pickup-truck/cummins-ram-history 1st Gen '89 - '91 .5 years '91.5 - '93 2nd Gen '94 - '98 .5 years '98.5 - '02 3rd Gen '03 - '07 .5 years '07.5 - '09...

    Bio fuel

I've run bio at stations and truck stops when we travel without any problems in my '14. I'll be doing the same in the '21 in a few days. Don't know if this'll help or not.

    Car wash

I never had a problem with height, but I did have a problem once with width. I was goin thru a touchless in my '14 and the and the arm smucked the passenger mirror and took out the blinker.

Why does my MPG suck so bad?

A deleted '14 I recently traded in would get 21.5 on a 1000 mi trip to Missouri averaging 73 mph between the states. I would get 27 doing 58 mph on two lane roads. Following whatever the speed the big trucks were going while towing, I would average 12 mpg. All hand calculated and with 3.42...
