With the OEM steps you can disable them from Uconnect. I do it whenever I find myself in rocks. I’d hope the aftermarket ones have a way to do something similar.
You’ll likely be happy with either truck, but if you’re getting a 5th wheel you’ll be much happier with a diesel every time you try to pull in to fuel up. Getting a gas truck with a big trailer into most pumps is a major pain.

I wouldn’t put any weight behind those photos. Ram’s marketing images are always computer generated. Many of them are the same photos from 2019 with new bits pasted in.
The cooling stack on the HD 6.4 is way over engineered. The temperature is definitely not an issue. Towing 13k up mountain passes in the summer at 65 MPH doesn’t change the temperature from what it is unloaded.
You don’t need (and shouldn’t use) “canbus compatible” bulbs, since those really aren’t a thing. It’s just a regular bulb with a resistor on it so the bulb out detection doesn’t flag.
What you should do is use AlfaOBD to disable bulb out detection.

As mentioned, these engines are designed to run hotter than old engines were. They can do that because the oil is much better and the manufacturing tolerances are much better.
