Which generation is “today’s generation”? Because it was mandated before the latest generations was born and before the previous generation could drive.
Yeah, I can see how my wording was confusing.
If a 70A version comes out I’d be tempted to swap out my current one. Of course, with 1200W of solar on my roofs with plans for more, and Furion Chill Cubes for ACs I’ve barely needed the 50A.
It’s 50A max in or out. So 12/12 you get 50A in and out at 12V (really 14V nominal, so 700W), 24/24 you get 50 24V (really 28V nominal, so 1400W), 12/24 you get 50A in at 12V and 25A out at 24V, 24/12 you get 25A in at 24V and 50A out at 12V.
I ran the plain Orion XS 12V only model for over a...
The BFG MTs on my last Wrangler were great at rock crawling and in the mud, but they’d give you a headache on long road trips they were so damn loud. I can’t hear a thing from the Falken AT4Ws on my Ram.
This is what I do. My trailer system is 24v so I’m running a Victron Orion XS1400 in the trailer because it can do any 12 or 24v on either side at a max of 50A. There’s a 2AWG run from my truck battery to the Anderson connector on the bumper, and at the Orion it hits a fuse block that drops it...
That definitely sounds like a balance issue, or possibly a tire out of round. That does happen occasionally.
If you drive on a lot of grooved or rutted pavement the wider tires can make it pull more back and forth.
The lawsuit didn’t have anything to do with warning labels. That’s a myth that came up later.
Also, have you met people? There’s a warning label because someone did it!
Way off topic here: There’s definitely too much frivolous litigation, but the McDonalds coffee thing was legit. It was a 79 year old woman and they handed her a cup of coffee at 190°, 50-60° above what’s standard for serving coffee. She asked them only to cover her medical expenses but they...
Yeah, there’s a few options out there I think. I’m definitely not buying another factory shaft. I’ll have to check the sales section to see if there’s one out there for a good price.
I’m curious what the issue with these is, since I’ve had Jeeps with CV shafts for 20 years and never had any...
Not a very good CV joint though. I went through 4 front shafts under warranty because the seals ripped, and now that I’m out of warranty the 5th has gone too. Makes a hell of a mess of grease under there.
Of course they do, it’s mandated by law on anything below a class 3 truck that it has a system that warns the driver if pressure drops. If they made it so you could mess with it that would just increase warranty claims.
Ram won’t be sued for that (or if they were the case would be quickly dismissed) since they and every other manufacturer say to only replace tires with the same ones that came on the vehicle from the factory.
Also, the dealer cannot change the tire pressure settings. They don’t have a tool that...
The people calling the new diesel PW not true to name are forgetting that the original PW was a heavy work truck. This thing is closer the the spirit of the name than what we’ve had for the last few years.
I thought people were having issues if they installed them on other trucks without programming. Error messages on the screen or something. Maybe I’m misremembering.
Nice to hear that you’ve found a solution for programming the new trucks. I’m sure given enough time someone (probably you) will...
