I will tell you about an overlooked and great thing. I went with a soft top instead of buying another Lear shell. I absolutely love this. Cost was about $800 vs $4000 for a hard top. Put it on or off in 15 minutes, including rails. I bought a Soft Topper. Best Buy is to call them direct.
I had my 2007 and worked as a heavy equipment mechainic in the field. I drove that truck every day. I had more than one oh **** grease smeared moment. Still cleaned up, still looked acceptable at 190K and 12 years of use.
It’s just very simple. There are those out there who reject basic physics to sell you their product. They spend more on Madison Avenue than research. If you have a bottomless pocket.... go for it.
I buy a new truck every 10 years. I take the best care of it I can and don’t try to make it more...
Unless you want cooled seats, stick with the cloth ones. I opted for them when I ordered my new truck because of the ability of easy cleaning, You won’t sweat your — off if the cooling fails in the summer, and they think too much of the seats for the price.
Unless the optional seats were part of...
I wasn’t a big fan of the OBDii plug either. On my truck if you pull the drivers side panel off . The 2 green blocks are facing away from you. One has a gray back and one has a black back. Sorry I had already deleted the photos.
Let’s save you all some grief.
1. most likely you will have to trim the excess metal on the pinch seam. To get clearance.
2. Amp Research will give a drawing for connecting the PNP that looks nothing like your truck. Most likely you will have 2 green boards under the drivers side instrument...
Been off awhile but this is the deal. Basic Physics. Okay like I said before you don’t get something for nothing. It’s all a trade off. Basic system, basic life. When you decide to “ improve your intake system by increasing flow through less filter”. you ingest more dirt. More dirt, more wear...
Make no mistake. With over 30 years experience. You don’t get something for nothing. If you put in filters that filter less instead of increasing surface area you will shorten the life of your engine. K&N is a farce. You would have to design your own air box and install filters with same micron...
I found it very hard that this was an issue. But I cannot argue with results. I thought for sure they messed up my truck so I would bring it back. Not the case. They do need to be blown out occasionally. Just don’t get caught.
I was losing 5mpg and power was way down. I also live in the desert. It would be much more noticeable in my 3500 regular cab long box. I am probably much lighter than you. The 6.4L Hemi is very snappy. If you don’t watch what your doing and just punch it to pass someone say going 60. From 3 car...
I noticed a drop in mileage around 5K miles. I drive about 75 miles a day round trip to work. We do get a lot of wind with dust in it. Also some AG debris from the fields. I am mostly on pavement. In comparison to the 2007 2500HD with a 5.7L there is considerably more bugs, chaff, and dirt below...
The issue with performance was the air filter. No way it will make recommended life for me. Soon as I changed it the truck woke up. There were no codes. Must be the new intake design. The air box was very dirty. I live in the lower Columbia Basin. I didn’t have this issue with the older style...
Gasser or diesel doesn’t matter. Both use the newer ram air intake system. My truck definitely pulls much more debris into the air box than the older style intake. I would not reduce filtration. I am not getting full life out of factory filter before performance drops off. At 17K miles I will be...
