Anyone else having issues with water leaking into cab. After washing truck I opened the door and found water dripping out of the drivers side A pillar handle. I am starting to hear there are some windshield installation issues. I am having a different dealer check it out Monday.

I had a problem with water leaking into my cab shortly after I bought the truck. They determined my third brake light seal was compromised. The weird part was water wasn't leaking into the cab from near the brake light. The truck was parked slightly facing downhill, and the headliner seemed to route water to the front of the cab.

Do you have the optional clearance (cab) lights installed? I heard those can be a common source of water leaks, and they are closer to the A pillar than the third brake light.

Yes I do. In fact whatever robot that drilled the roof had pulled the roof upwards causing all of the lights to not sit flush. There were scratches about an inch long beside each of the lights. This had made it past factory and dealer QC. I only noticed it when I was standing in the bed a couple of weeks after the purchase. Original Dealer repaired and repainted entire roof. Maybe because I was trying to remove some bugs along the top of the windshield that the leak revealed itself.

In that case, I would take it into the dealer for diagnosis. If you make any changes, they might refute your warranty claim. Utilize @RamCares if you run into resistance.

In retrospect, I would probably not order the cab lights or the sunroof because I plan on keeping the truck "forever," and those two options are common sources of water intrusion.

I order a new truck about every 10-12 years. I now have to special order because of lack of choice in regular cab market. I think maybe the planned movement of the 3500 line back to the US had some quality impacts. The 2019 3500’s were very late. In fact I didn’t know what the front end would look like. The fender flares and retractable steps wouldn’t fit the truck due to late design changes. I am finally now adding those options. Definitely not the same experience as my 2007 2500HD this one replaced.

Thank you for taking the time to follow up with me, just had a chance to respond to your PM!

Choose your dealer wisely! I got my truck back from local dealer to t/s water in cab. Not only did they not drop the headliner to check rear brake light assy, they annotated my service record to state that “I” installed aftermarket clearance lamps. Obviously on the build record for my truck. I didn’t order it through them for 2 reasons. 1. They said I could only order white. (Whose money is being spent). 2. They were thousands of dollars more. Dealers like this should be avoided. No class. After buying MOPAR products for over 40 years I am totally beside myself. Stay away from Lithia in Kennewick WA.

Every dealer for every care I've ever had (Ford, Dodge, Honda, and Subaru) annotates any aftermarket addition when it seems to center around a complaint.... I always make them document why they think the aftermarket part is an issue and elevate from there.

My lights are factory, just shows their business practices.
