I decided to protect my investment by purchasing LuckyMan Club complete seat covers off Amazon.

I ordered some rough country seat covers, I’ll post up some pics and my thoughts when I get them.

Protecting the upholstery is good, those look pretty nice.
I've always figured that since I paid for upgraded seats I might as well enjoy them myself, instead of saving them for the next owner.
My current truck has leather seating, figured it was a bit more durable and easier to keep clean with dogs, kids and all the outdoor stuff I do. Well the ventilated seat holes cause a bit of annoyance, as does the suede fabric patches, and it's starting to wear/peel in certain spots because apparently the laramie isn't a "real" leather. At this point I'm thinking about covers just so I can clean them easier.

I agree with your overall position though. It seems a lot of guys go through a lot of work to keep everything nice for the next guy to enjoy.

Yes, I'm planning on keeping this truck, it's going to be my last big investment so, I wanted to keep it as nice as possible for now and into the future by installing the seat covers.

Yeah, Laramie seats look like they are all leather, but are just "leather trimmed". Still, the seats in the 18 2500 Laramie I traded on my 22 were still perfect. No wear areas at all, no peeling, etc. Looked like new. So they seem to stand up pretty well. I never allow dogs on them though. It was a Megacab, so we fold the back seats into the flat floor and cover that area with moving blankets for the dogs. No kids around anymore.

I've got a 19 I bought in summer of 20 and the drivers seat is already peeling. Just past warranty sadly so no resource except to let it peel and/or do aftermarket like katzkin or fully swap out the seats for limited/longhorn (which I won't do).

I hope yours fairs better!

Bummer it was out of warranty. Has to be frustrating on a truck that new.

As I said, I traded that truck. My new Limited Longhorn has all leather. I treated the Laramie seats like they were leather, using leather cleaner and conditioner regularly, FWIW.

I hear you...
I'm in the same boat now, just retired last month and this truck will have to last me a long time.

I wonder how much factory original upholstery and foam for the driver's seat bottom would cost?

Haven't the slightest clue but, it's probably pricey. I just brought this to tow my camper with. I have a different truck as my daily driver. I have around 4.5 yrs left, then I'll be right there with you on retirement. Traveling excursions are calling me and my wife. We've been traveling quite a bit since 2016 and we're wanting more freedom.

Finally put these on today. So far look nice, we’ll see how they hold up. Plus side is that the entire interior is now black

For the guys with the seat covers, have you had any issues with heat/cool vents? can you feel it through the seat cover?
