I noticed the lack of a under hood light on my '19 Laramie. Even my '14 Big Horn had one? I'm sure some bean counter at FCA decided to do away with it.
Not on the LongHorn either. And the wire connect for that light at the right/rear of the engine compartment, which was apparently on the 18s, is gone as well.
I've had my 2019 2500 Tradesman for a month now, and I have only ever opened the hood in the dark. I need to get a look under the hood in the daytime, or with some lights on, but I am hoping to wire up a light soon.
I keep a battery-powered LED light with magnetic mount handy in the glovebox. It's not *quite* as handy as having the engine compartment light up when you raise the hood. It's nice because I can move it as needed, no need to have to look into shadows like on my old under-hood lights. The other plus is that I can use it other places besides just the engine compartment. I was fooling around with the trailer hitch the other day, and there's no light back there with the tailgate up to get to the hitch. It's also handy when changing tires in the dark.
There are lots of these devices available on the web. I can't find the exact one I have now, it's a couple of years old. But these are similar.
