Trailer Brake Control

I have a 2019 Ram 3500 HO. It was suppose to come with the trailer brake control. It didn't. The dealership said they would order the control and install it. That was in November. They tell me that their computer says the module is not available and they can't even get a part number.

Is this true? Who can I follow up with. I kinda need my trailer brakes operational and don't want to go aftermarket.

Any advice?

Thanks,
Bobby

According to this vendor, it exist:

https://www.stevewhiteparts.com/ste...ted-trailer-brake-controller-mopar-swm19bcont

They don't show the mopar part #. But upon inspection, (if the picture is the right one) looks like 82215278AB (replaced) or 82215278AE (newer) which is said to be for the new 1500. Same for 3500? Probably.

He is selling here too.
And he will run your VIN to confirm.

I was told when I ordered my 2500 that all 2500 & 3500 come standard with a Class V hitch and the controller installed from the factory. I would be questioning your dealer and looking at the build sheet. Seems like a ball got dropped somewhere. You can also go to the website and build a truck and it should be listed under standard equipment. Hope it works out for you brother!!!!!
I also find it odd that the dealer and factory wouldn’t make sure a 3500 with a CTD had it anyway

From Ramtrucks web site. Standard Equipment listed under safety and security.........trailer brake controller.
I would be having a chat with your dealer.

Not sure about 3500s, but 2500 Tradesman doesnt come with it standard. Almost bought one without it till I realized that. Amazing they would sell trucks made for hauling and towing and not have a TBC standard.

it doesn't come standard. i bought one without it, and there were another 10 or so trucks without
it on the lot. i agree, makes no sense why it wouldn't come with one as an absolute bottom line
standard accessory, but it's not.

I stand corrected!!! The 2500 does NOT come standard. I was misled also! But, the 3500 in question should have if it is a BigHorn at least

Ugh...:-/ this is what is so frustrating to me with these manufacturers! Guys buying 2500’s and 3500’s and all models should be setup from the factory as standard to pull every type of trailer! Do they think they are being used as grocery getters? And why in the world would ANY DEALER order a HD truck for their lot not setup to fully tow all types of bumper hitch style trailers?........SMH!

I could see if it were a $1,000 option or something, but for what it is they should throw it into every HD truck, imho.

At least the factory brake controller can be put on after manufacture. Not sure if it is still true, but you couldn't on a Chevy.

Possibly this is why it's not included on some models, because it can be added relatively easily? It's lame but I can see that as being the reasoning.
