I picked up my new PW on 12/31. The dealer set the tire pressure at 71 front 70 rear which they said was the factory recommended PSI. Of course, in my limited driving since then it rode pretty rough. The door panel says 60 front 65 rear. I am assuming that this is probably considering 'under load'. I am unloaded probably 90% of the time. What tire pressure would be reasonable to run to give a more comfortable ride and not set off the pressure sensor alarms?

yea that would be a jarring ride. even 60/65 is for max load.

this is my actual empty weight on my 2020 PW so you can see no need to having your tires max psi. Toyo has a great guide for needed psi.

Thanks to the cold weather I'm at 40/45 instead of 60/65. I can't tell any difference in ride quality.

I see you are running 35's. Would you expect any difference in the pressure you are running and the stock Goodyear 33's that are on my PW?
look at the Toyo psi guide I posted a link to. you cam easily get away with 50 up front and 35 in the back running empty. that is what I did when I had the stock tires. put your truck on a scale with your passengers and you can see what each axle weighs and how much each tire on each axle needs to support.

Your dealer is full of it! :rolleyes: 70 was the shipping pressure (harder the tire the less bounce in transit). They were to lazy to adjust it in PDI. I would not trust them if it was me.

55/60 is what I run here in PA.... Where the roads blow.... Ride aint bad

After trying many pressure combinations, I have found 45/40 to be the sweet spot for my E rated KO2 35's. I ran 40/35 for a good while, but when I had them rotated, of course they filled them back up. I dropped them back down to 45/40 and noticed the rolling resistance was a little less and the truck drove better in all aspects than 40/35, so I stuck with that.

Same here. I may drop the rears back down some as I'm not getting a good contact patch on the outer edges.

on mine 40psi front I get perfect contact patch in the rear at 32psi I am not getting contact on the outer edges. I probably could drop under 30 in back easily.F6526254-44EB-476D-9AD3-9FBC75233E0E.jpeg

I dropped mine to 45/40 and my low pressure indicator light immediately came on. How have you all dealt with that? Is there a work-around?

AEV procal snap or similar device to lower the psi threshold. lots of different devices work

I used AlfaOBD to change the TPMS settings.

So, if I understand it correctly, by dropping the tire pressure in my PW I will need to spend about $200 to purchase the obd to override my low tire pressure warning light? Am I missing something?

Sounds about right.
But there is a lot of other things you can do as well with Alpha.
