And don't even think about leaning on the hood!

Ram incorporated a torsion bar spring assist for closing the tailgate making it appear lightweight. If you remove the tailgate you’ll likely find it heavier than the competition. In fact, Ram/Dodge tailgates have always had a reputation of having the strongest tailgates on construction jobs.

And is why you need to raise the tailgate about 45 degrees when removing - ya gotta unload the bar.
