With the debut of the heavily updated 2019 Ram Heavy Duty models a week away, we are starting to see even more pre-production prototypes on the road of Metro Detroit. This weekend our friends at Real Fast Fotography, caught the 2019 Ram 5500 Tradesman Chassis Cab in a regular cab configuration making a pit stop while testing.

This is the first time we are getting a real detailed look at a minimal camouflaged Ram 5500 for the new model year. This particular model is powered by the rumored CUMMINS diesel with a new Compacted Graphite Iron (CGI) engine block.

This Tradesman model will be the workhorse of the Ram 5500 lineup. From the pictures we see that the Tradesman features standard halogen head lamps and new fog lamp delete panels in the fog lamp housings. A pair of heavy duty thick black tow hooks are clearly shown sticking through the grille. We also see that the standard black door handles are poking through the camouflage over a majority of the handles.

The new front end styling gives the 4th generation cabs a drastically different look.

From the side profile we can see that this particular prototype is carrying the dual 52-gallon and mid-ship 22-gallon fuel tanks. With the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) nozzle for the tank is easily located behind the driver door of the cab. No digging under the hood to change your DEF.

HDRams.com will be broadcasting live from the floor at the 2019 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit next Monday as the truck makes it public debut.
