Huh, they finally added the tailgate ajar warning. About time.
Only change for 2024. They really are killing it with the innovations :D Dear Stellantis, please slow down, we can't keep up with the changes.
Insert the following questions pre answered:
1. I can't find x part number for my 2024 truck, will a 23 work? Yes
2. I can't find x part number for my 2024 truck, will a 22 work? Yes
3. I can't find x part number for my 2024 truck, will a 21 work? Yes
4. I can't find x part number for my 2024 truck, will a 20 work? Yes
5. I can't find x part number for my 2024 truck, will a 19 work? Yes
6. I found x part super cheap on marketplace but it came off a 19,20,21,22,23 truck, will it work on my 2024? Yes
7. I want to order x aftermarket part for my 2024 but the website says only compatible with 19-23 trucks, will it fit on my 2024? Yes

And I’ll answer the question about the tailgate ajar warning that people will be wondering:
Can it be added to a 2019-2023? Not without swapping in a 2024 BCM. The pin for the tailgate ajar switch sense is physically not present on 2019-2023 BCM’s.

to be honest the tailgate warning would be annoying if you actually use the truck with the tailgate down
I find it more annoying when I drive away with the tailgate open cause I was distracted after loading. Happened to me multiple times over ownership of two hd’s.

I bet the noise is something already popular with ram folks, soothing and low key... like four horn honks.
Not mine there is no honks thankfully not that it would be an issue for me i would disconnect the horn if mine did that! Lol

How about they just make a better latch that doesn't release on its own. I haven't had it happen (and have had the recall done), but have wondered a few times since I can't see it with my diamond back cover.

My solution is to just tap the backup camera to see if I see the ground or the car behind me.

anyone know when they will stop taking orders for 2023s and only switch to taking orders for 2024s?

I'm still waiting on the VA to approve the wheelchair modifications I need. (Not the VA's fault in this case)

Orders for 2023 stopped back in May (or around there), they are only taking orders for 2024 since then.

Not true.23/24 trucks can't order a tow mode camera from previous years. Actually they can't order one at all.

Wish I had tailgate ajar on my ‘22. Kids left the tailgate down leaving the house at 530 am heading to the airport. Needless to say we flew out without their suitcases as the were somewhere on the highway
This is the biggest reason i do a quick circle check, kids and wife can do some stupid things at times

Agreed. Normally my suitcase goes in the back last and I do the closing of tailgate. It was wet so I put mine in the cab. Best part was we put airtags in all our suitcases in case the got lost…. At the airport.

Doesn't anyone pay attention to the backup cam screen when briefly going from P-D? I just watch the screen and make sure I don't see the ground, if not I'm good! It has saved me one time from a helper that never put it back up.
