Makes perfect sense.

I always wondered why they tagged the Longhorn as a Laramie when the trim matched the Limited except for finish color and the filigree leather.

Given that they tagged the Limited the "Laramie Limited" for the last many years, it's not so surprising that the Longhorn ended up there, too. While they made a concerted effort a while back to change "Laramie Limited" to "Limited," there are still many instances where Ram themselves call the Limited trim Laramie Limited. I just googled "Dodge Laramie Limited" and this is the first hit on the list, right from Ram, although it's for the 1500s, but the same rules apply:
