While I have been waiting for the truck to go thru its process and get here.
I started to put together a list of mods and add-ons to do and work on. Thank you for this forum and member for suggestions and your own ideas that have assisted and helped. Looking forward to doing it all. This will be my first Diesel, so there are other things that i will be familiarizing myself with.
1. what to wire to Aux ports
Aux 1 - dash cam/radar
Aux 2 - air compressor
Aux 3 - transfer tank
Aux 4 - wigwam front and rear
Aux 5 - tbd
Aux 6 - tbd (potentially reserved for PTO due to factory position)
2. thinking of how to make use of PTO i have a thread in modifications on that research - https://hdrams.com/forum/index.php?threads/pto-add-on.10527/
3. Making a port/cable pass-thru in the clutch cover plate
4. Air compressor and tank, unsure if PTO or electric based right now
5. Generator and/or inverter with panel for power distribution, to power home, tools or RV in a case of emergency or working in an area without power - PTO based
6. adding the puck system into the rambox bed to make use of gooseneck and 5th wheel, along with the parts required to make that available
7. figuring out how to extend like the factory the trailer plugs into the bed space
8. get the adapters to use the rambox divider on the tailgate lid
9. Adding the surround camera system -
10. adding Blind Spot Monitoring -
11. checking how to add/replace the builtin inverter for a larger one
12. Tinting the truck, ceramic coat and any other protection that makes sense
13. A back rack setup
14. replace stock tank with 50 gal
15. add a in bed tank for extra fuel and for machine fill up in the field, preferably maintaining under the bed cover and not impact the gooseneck/5th-wheel
16. Extra/aux lights, I'm a fan of usable and not seen, and as close to factory look as possible
17. Front bumper with winch setup and hitch for front tray/cooler placement
18. if and when makes sense - matching rear bumper
19. potentially relocation of spare to back bumper attachment or elsewhere to make use of space underneath for things. Or to get on a schedule to lower and raise the tire so it doesn't rust shut
20. I like the led bar in the lower tailgate gap that are extra parking/blinker/brake light, a little dissatisfied the the OEM LED tail light doesnt do blinker and brake light at the same time, its a or not an and.
21. I also dont think my truck will have a release tailgate button, will look into the possibility of adding this feature
22. while the fuel is designed to be capless, i will still be getting a set to make sure nothing else makes its way in there.
23. suspension related - need to do homework
24. Tires and potentially wheels - when the original ones need replacing
25. Window vent shades
26. Lockable/safe storage for 2A related items
27. GMRS radio
28. Powder coat night edition wheels, color TBD.
29. Replace stock tires with 35X12.5R20LT
30. Air springs - Front - Air Lift 1000 Part No. 80532 - Rear - LoadLifter 7500 XL Part No. 57531 - manual management to start
i did not expect the list to get this long ;-)
