I bought my truck last year 2020 2500 tradesman 6.4L HEMI , 8 speed transmission and 6ft bed ,with protection group , snow chief group , chrome appearance group , tradesman level 2 equipment group electronic shift on the fly transfer case, power black trailer tow mirrors , rear wheelhouse liners and brake controller for about $41,000. Now I checked the KBB trade in value at it says $52,690. Is this for real? They went up in price so much?

Yes, it's for real. I sold my 2018 LIMITED on June 1st for $64K (to a Ford dealer). I paid $61K for it NEW in 2018.

Ordered a NEW 2022 3500 LIMITED Mega Cab yesterday for $76K.

I think I got a pretty good deal. Ordered on 4.19.21 showed up 6.15.21. I also had a $1500 mailer on top of the discount the dealer provided. I sold my 18' with 80k on the odometer for $1000 less than I paid 2 years ago.

Coming from Pittsburgh Pa, is there a dealer within 500 miles that can order specific and give up front pricing that is fair? There are no incentives to speak of and my locals are holding real tight to msrp. I'm wanting to order a 2021 3500 drw long bed in blue with specific options that I want and can't find.

Dave Smith is the largest CJD dealer in the world so they say. Another good dealer is Dennis Dillon. You'll probably find your best deal at one or the other.
Just got my 3rd Ram 2500 from Dave Smith - No one else could match the price and I do not need to barter.

I was really hoping to find a dealer in my area if the planet.... doesn't need to be next door.... but the opposite end of the hemisphere seems a little far.

I'm pretty sure there is a guy in Louisiana that a lot of users have gone through before. Name escapes me, but searching here should absolutely bring it up.

You could go through my post history too. I definitely posted more info about him at some point.

Visit the 2022 order discussion

Please keep those discussions related to Builds and Orders.

There's been some off topic posts there about dealer operations related to margins and legitimacy that I don't think belong in the thread, they're a huge distraction.

Laura CDJ is in St. Louis I believe and they provide volume pricing similar to what the Idaho dealerships do.

Okay guys.... bare with me. I traded in my 2014 Wrangler and my 2019 Ram 2500 on a 2021 Ram 3500 Laramie level B that was$74K.

They gave me 21K for a 14 Wrangler with 40K miles and the left side roll. Then they gave me 50K for my Ram that I owed 42K on.

So I got into this with $2500 off MSRP and 29K in trade value and 71K in tax protection.

I also ordered a 2022 Ram 3500 in Hydro blue but adding in the sunroof, 360 cameras and every other available option. I'll trade this one on the blue Laramie level B with every option available.

The sales manager agreed to sell at invoice, and I'm cool with that. She's also expecting that this mess will continue with high trade values and she's predicting that she will hurt me about 3k to 4k on the trade. I'm okay with that.

So now I'm waiting. When will the fully maxed out chips be ready to build my Hydro blue? She laughed and said that she's betting November at the very earliest.... maybe February.

And depending on the state laws, most states cap tax deduction on trade in values. For example, in IL you get a max of 10k deduction which equates to $650 tax deduction with the 6.5% auto tax. I've seen similar in other states.

Just took delivery of my 2021 3500 DRW Longhorn fully loaded ordered April 12. Sounds like I was one of the last 2021’s. Paid invoice with Dick Hannah Ram, Washington. Lifetime drivetrain warranty, no sales tax to Oregon buyers.

Trucks get the full trade in value in Illinois. Cars do not.

When I lived in MA, you wouldnt have to pay sales tax on 100% of the trade value. $45K trade on a $50K purchase meant you would pay tax on the $5K only.

I posted this on the 2022 build thread as well, but wanted to give another shout out to Gary.spencer@budclary.com. Gary is the sales manager at Bud Clarys in Moses lake Washington. He made me a great deal and was super easy to work with. He said he would be glad to have people reach out to him directly. He offered invoice minus holdbacks.
