I keep getting mixed opinions on when to change the oil in my 2019 diesel. The truck is a year old, gauges say oil has 45+-% left. Book says 15K or 12 months, dealer just said 6000 or 6 months which I am pretty sure is incorrect. Any advise would be good.

I do 10,000 miles on my 06 cummins and are doing the same on my 19 cummins. Oil and fuel filter all at the same time. Makes it easy IMO. Also depends how much you drive it if you are going to put 10,000 miles on it in a year. If not then you will need to change it every year. At the least

The book calls for 15k or 12 months for oil and fuel and that's what I'm sticking with . Even on the first change. My oil and fuel still look clean after 7000 miles. It's really just your personnel preference just don't go past 15 k so it don't show in dealers records that you have neglected her ;)

Follow the OEM recommendations and you'll be fine. I change when my EVIC displays 20% left. Usually 10k-12k. And I will change before a long trips if it will put me in the lessthen 20% range.

I change the fuel filters the same time I change the oil. I can usually find the two fuel filters, air and oil filters on EBAY for a good price. I stuck with MOPAR filters because of that.

The last 2-3 oil changes I had done at PepBoys because they were only $20 more than buying the oil and filter on sale prices.

I run Shell Rotella and Mopar filters. And that's what PepBoys used on my truck.

I get my money's worth out of those expensive filters and service as I have the dealer do it as long as its under warranty. I'll run it down to 3-5% on my gauges

I don't put on enough miles to warrant oil/filter and fuel filter changes other than once every 12 months. I've never put on more than 6K a year on my trucks, often less.

6 month is pure BS. I did that on my 5.9L running Dino oil just to be safe, but it's unnecessary.

Just changed mine yesterday @ 6200mi. I'll do another change at 12k then go annually forever more. It was nasty but what diesel isn't?? Rotella T6/Mopar filter(thanks Geno's) and I bought the Lisle filter cap which made it all kinda mess free. Good luck

Cool I use it in my eco diesel as well. I ask because the manual says 10w30 unless you in really cold weather then use 5w40

Ive run that in the Michigan winter and the Tennessee mountain heat and humidity and the West coast mercury busters and it's always performed well
