Got in my ram today and pushed the button and it sounded k\like the engine would try to turn over and then just stop. Finally hooked up a set of jumper cables and it fire right up. Voltage never dropped much. could it be a battery? Truck is three years old.

Probably today’s battery’s suck. Here in Tx the heat kills them.

Yea you most likely have one bad battery

Sounded like a bad battery to me but I've never dealt with a push-button start before. I went and got a battery load tester and checked both batteries. One just barley passed and the other wouldn't even move the needle. Put two new batteries and everything is good. Voltage on dash shows 13.9.

I can see where you might not want to deal with the dealer, but if it's under warranty, so are the batteries.
