Wanting to add car play to my radio. From what I read this isn’t possible without upgrading radio. Is it possible to buy a 2018 or newer factory radio for replacement that has car play? If so will all other controls on the radio work the same? Climate control etc etc. thank you

No apple carplay in 2017 2500

Yes you can replace it with a 2018 model and everything works. There is a great write up on exactly what you need to do it but don't think I can link to the other ram forum they are on so you will have to search.
