Alright, guys, new to Ram totally and love the brand due to the number of available accessories for these trucks. However, I want to get it done right the first time and obviously, you guys know what's good and what isn't so I'm open to suggestions.
- Truck will be my daily, so 37's are not for me
- Definitely going to be getting this thing offroad, hence why I went with Billet Silver
- Want it to be functional for fishing trips (poles/kayaks/ gear)
Here's my list of what I plan on doing to this truck right away, let me know what you think could be better or suggestions for gaps I may have.
- Mickey Thompson A/T Baja Boss 35's ( Seeing good reviews on these for driveability and wet performance)
- Diamond Back cover- I'd like to have fishing pole mounts on the underside of it and the ability to put kayaks on top.
- LED lights for the rack for late/early morning fishing trips or tailgating (unsure of what brand to go with)
- Front light bar - https://www.randyellisdesign.com/store/p124/Dodge/RAM_2019-2021_2500/3500_Light_Bar_34201_-_Satin_Black.html. (Unsure of lights but I would like individual lights vs light bar) - Using for trails / back roads to work have a lot of deer and minimal vehicle traffic so I won't be blinding people
-Truck comes with a bed liner but I'd like to get the bottom of the truck Line-X protected, from what I've seen over the years Rams like to rust and I want to keep this guy nice for many years to come. Also supposedly there is some sound deadening which could be nice. I'd like feedback if any of you had done this.
- Amsoil everything! - I plan on driving this truck back and changing all the fluids when I get home with it (2k mi drive). I want to change all the case fluids prior to doing the line-x seal.
- Buttons? Who has the buttons? - Truck comes with dual alternators and cabling. Share your thoughts on a good aux button pad for all these lights I plan on using if you can.
- DOGS! - I've got two border collies I want to start getting on the road with me more now that I'm back in a truck. I'd like to protect the seats, but also the door trim as these guys like to get crazy in the car. Let me know what you use that worked for such a situation.
- Hoping XPEL has a laser cutout sheet for the center console area to put on xpel stealth and protect the screen and piano black pieces. Also going to XPEL the paint along the stock rock sliders since they're so thin and get my detail guy to nano coat the truck with GTechniq. **Edits**
-Adding CJC winch guard and the other tranny guard to the PW armor list to-do's. - https://dethloffmfg.com/shop/oil-transmission-skid-plate / https://www.cjcoffroad.com/products...intercooler-guard?_pos=1&_sid=fd5a991ac&_ss=r
- Going to try out this dog cover for the rear seats as it covers the door sills too- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DCS4F82/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
- Lights - switch pro looked like it had great fit and finish, solid custom configs (pricey though) https://store.switchpros.com/sp-9100-switch-panel-power-system / KC Flex Era 4 lights (4) https://www.kchilites.com/flex-era-4-2-light-system.html / Rack lights - https://www.kchilites.com/2-c-series-c2-led-area-flood-light-system-328.html OR https://luxlightingsystems.com/coll...ock-light-kit-for-rvs-8-piece-ground-coverage
- Changed covers / rack and just going with a diamond back cover to kill two birds with one stone
- Lastly, let me know if I'm overlooking something you feel is important to owning a power wagon, ram truck in general for offroad or daily usage. I know there are a lot of guys out there that push these things to the max and you have a lot of cool toys to go with them.
Appreciate the help and look forward to your tips and advice, it's always better to listen to those wiser than yourself!
