Due to uncertainty from the election, I am going to hold onto my 17 and forego a new truck. If only half the crap the socialists want to implement, comes to fruition, I will be needing more money to hand to government nazis. Open borders, regulations, etc. are just too much. Scaling back all hiring as well. Hopefully, we can recover from all this, but losing faith quickly.

That will be true, at least if Georgia senate race comes out right. Another lockdown after that will be absolutely disastrous. This virus thing is a joke in the sense that we should have protected the vulnerable and went on with our lives. I don’t need gov. tellin me what I should be doing to protect myself. Anybody who thinks mandates are a savior is sadly mistaken. I also do not have faith that republicans will not simply cave like they did when Obama was in. They will give us the same ole, “we have to take back the house, and so on” B.S.

As someone who has lived and work in socialist countries, England and Ireland, I know what will happen. They do not raise up anyone. They will lower the livng standards folks who went to extra effort to learn specialized skills. In Ireland, systems programmer makes as much as a general practitioner.

I talked to folks who went through training to work in the medical field. Required extra training, stressful environment and long hours because of lack of adequate staffing. The difference in pay was about 1000 a month, before taxes. So they take a clerks job, get a little less pay and have more hours off.

Why work harder for insignificant benefits?

Software developers make great money everywhere, especially if you're somewhat better than the average script kiddie or overseas dev. I'm not surprised in the least they can make >= general practitioner.

GP in the USA make $160k-250k. System programmers are from 80k- 130k. Some slightly higher in high tax areas. Usually specialist make the $115k and above. but that can vary by 20k based on locale.

Yeah man, I told the guy at the Toyota dealership that I didn’t want them spraying some mystery antiviral chemical around my car when they are done, and that I am more afraid of that chemical than the virus, and you should have seen the look I got from the guy down the desk from me. I thought I was in for a lecture. I am down with alcohol sanitization, but this other stuff, who the hell knows what breathing that junk will do.
