Just got the Nitto Recon Grapplers installed yesterday. 35x11.5x20 from Discount tire. Really like the way they turned out. DT gave me $100 off since I purchased these and a set of Mazda tires for my son's car.

They really change the look of the truck compared to the crap Firestone's.

Seems they gain about 4 -5 psi when they heat up from driving. Currently running 66psi at temperature.

I was just looking at this tire as a replacement for my Firestone’s. It’s between them and the AT3. Let us know what your initial impressions are after you’ve got a few miles on them.

@Eatonpcat the at3 has a different tread pattern but I think the category they fall into is the same. The recon has a better tread warranty vs the at3 though 55k vs 50k. The at3 has more sizes available as the recon is a newer tire. In the end though I’ll probably end up trying both of them, eventually whichever I can find in the size I want first.

Looks perfect. These are the exact tires I plan on upgrading to once my crap Firestones wear out. How is the ride compared to the Firestones, should be considerably smoother?

I have the same question regarding ride quality... following.

So far no major difference in ride quality. Might be a little stiffer, but only because these have a little more air pressure in them than I had in the Firestone's. Slightly more road noise at highway speed, but not enough to worry about.

Following as well. I have G2 grapplers on my 1500. I have been reading about these new Recons. It will either these or the G2 when I get the 2500. Really like Nittos and the G2 is a great tire.

Just put 295/70r18 on our 1500. Way better traction and actually seem to be smoother than the G2s which were exact same size. Replaced G2s because after 35k miles they lost all wet traction even though there was still decent tread. Recons look a little meaner but not too much. More hum than G2s but nothing bad at all. If they get some more sizes available I’ll put these on the 2500 too.

Nice looking tires. The lack of 3P rating would be a deal killer for me. I don't see that spec.

True. Picking out tires is like picking out a girlfriend way back in High school. I like the nice looking ones, but which one gives the best ride...
This one made me laugh
