Looking for a good hitch

Hello all, I’m new to RAMS and got a 2012 2500 5.7 and the hitch receiver is definitely bent downward and to the side. I’m looking at aftermarket hitches but it looks to me like all the aftermarket fit only the diesel trucks. Any good recommendations on a place to find an A/M hitch? Thank you!

FWIW, I replaced the hitch receiver (with a Reese Titan Class V from etrailers) on my ‘12 Ram 3500 before I ever towed with it (as the older receivers had a bad reputation of not holding up). I was ready to replace the receiver on my ‘18 Ram 3500 when I bought it but evidently the problem was corrected after 2012.

I found a class IV curt hitch. Looks like it installs directly to the frame under the factory hitch. Did you replace yours yourself? My current hitch looks like the bed needs to be lifted in order to remove the factory hitch. I’m not big on having 2 receivers on my truck.

I wore the hitch in my 05 out and upgraded to a Reese. The hitch in my 2018 was no better than the 05, but I towed more with a 5th wheel so the OEM receiver lasted much longer even with similar wear per mile of conventional towing.

The receiver in my ‘22 is the most robust of the 3.

I could destroy the world with a screwdriver so I pay others to work on my Ram. I had the old receiver cut out on my ‘12 and replaced with the Reese Titan Class V. I could have gone the cheaper route and ended up with two receivers but that looks ugly to me and it would irritate me every time I looked at it. I have a guy who does good work, he ain’t cheap but I have no worries about anything coming loose when I’m on the road either. Buy once, cry once.

Hmmm... I haven’t towed with my ‘18 yet, might have to buy another Reese Titan Class V. Safety means everything to me.

My father has a torqlift magnum since he needs it for his truck camper and hitch extension to tow a trailer behind the truck camper and man is that thing pretty. It’s heavy when we installed it. I’m a huge fan of torqlift products

They just wear out fast, I think they are perfectly safe to tow with when they aren’t too sloppy in the receiver size.

I haven’t found a single receiver 2.5” replacement receiver for the 13+ frames that I like. The Torklift is severe overkill for me, and I don’t like the way the Curt’s mount. So I’m hoping my 22’s receiver lasts longer.

The (GVWR) wet weight of my travel trailer is 7,600 lbs (and I carry most of the heavy stuff in the bed of my truck anyway when we’re towing). Still, I like some extra strength due to unexpected conditions (high winds, evasive maneuvers, etc). I’ll just have to keep a close watch on the factory receiver.
