I just traded off my 2017 1500 Sublime Green 4x4 for a 2500 Laramie 6.4L for the towing/weight capacity. I was perfectly happy with the 1500, but once I hitched up my new camper trailer, I was at the GVWR without having the trailer loaded. Since I don't want to spend my vacation on the side of the road or in a ditch, I opted to trade now rather than later.

I got my first Dodge (Dakota) in 1987, followed by 2 more, and I ordered a 1994 4x4 Short Bed. That took 9 months to get. Then a 97 extended cab, the quad cab 2001. Traded that for a Charger in 07, but picked up a used 08 1500 regular cab in 2012. Traded it off in 17 for the last one.

So far (<500 miles) I am very satisfied with my choice. I have a month to get everything ready for a trip to Durango in August.

You can't just say you had a sublime green 1500 and traded to a 2500 and not tell us the color or post a picture? :) Call me curious what you ended up going with to follow up on the green.

Trip to Durango sounds great, really enjoy that area.

Red. Just plain ole red. Quite a change but I really like the new truck.

Actually Dave01, I wanted to get the truck you're driving in a 22 but when I called it had already been sold.

First, that green 1500 is awesome ... talk about a head turner.

I happen to really like the red 2500 color. I had a red Suburban diesel some years back, had been repainted and loved the color, my family named it The Tomato. Pretty similar to the Ram red.

On mine ... I had decided pretty much on the truck features I wanted, had thought I'd be buying a Limited, was considering a few colors. Then I saw this one for sale less than an hour away, went to look, had every feature I wanted even though it was a Laramie. If I'm being honest I bought it as I got out of my car and first saw it, the color and trim just looked perfect to me. A half hour ago I was loading paddle boards, kayak, and bikes in it, couldn't be happier with my choice.

I did the same as you. Got out of my 1500 with an abysmal payload of 900 lbs that we were always over when towing. I got a gas 2500 and have 2900 lbs of payload now. That will not be a problem again.
Of course now we can pull a heavier trailer so... we are picking that up this afternoon.
