I've had my 2021 ram 2500 4x4, a short while, put about 300 miles on it, crew cab with 4:10 gears, made a short empty trip the other day, nice straight flat road and a good wind behind me

Nice... but you're probably going to want to manually track mileage/gas used to get anything accurate.

yep, just a positive observation, compared to all the negative, same trip in my 2018 would have been showing, 17

Thanks for posting the comparison. It really seems the 8spd combo has improved mpg and certainly the performance. Updates would be nice to see in the future. Cheers.

I think that's from folks who have never had an HD truck?
I came into this knowing full well that mileage would likely be crap... but it is actually better than the 2019 1500 with 3.92 that I traded,

I have a 21 Bighorn and have been getting 18.5 -19 for mpg around town. A little better on the highway. I’ve hand calc’ed it once and it was .3 mpg less than what was showing. I have less than 1,000 miles still and hoping it still gets better. If not, I’m still happy it’s better than the Hemi I had.

I'm disappointed in my mileage. I'm getting 11 mpg. Figured I'd be getting 12 minimum and expected around 13. 1 or 2 mpg doesn't sound like much but it's huge when your mileage is low. Going from 11 to 13 would be an 18% improvement. Still a lot better than my old V10 F250 that got 9 mpg. I wouldn't even care much about the Hemi's mileage if it wasn't for the meager effective fuel capacity of 27 gallons.

Excluding those using their truck commercially...fuel costs get WAY more mindshare then they deserve. People freak out over a 10 cent jump at the pump which is $2 or $3 a tank for most people. Or a 10% bump in either direction for mpg. If you are spending $200 a month on fuel that's $20. I understand it's your money and every penny counts, but most of us blow $20 on really frivolous stuff all the time and don't care near as much as we do about fuel.

Good ole lie o meter. Only mpg numbers that matter are avg. over the tank and overall.

Unless your have lots of idleing they are rather accurate compared to hand calculating mine seems to be anyway its usually within .5 of an mpg
