The cat spin on filter seems to help overall. Front filter seemed really clean. 10k / 15 months between filter change. 118k overall miles. Trying to keep the fuel as clean as possible. Mopar filter up front/Baldwin filter in the back with the add on cat filter kit. Overkill?

Cat filter is a waste of time and money if you still have the OEM water separator honestly.

Correct, that filter hasn’t been the best in filtration in many years. I’m always amazed at how well that filter holds a reputation based on specs that were superseded in 2004.

The OEM setup is superior to the Cat 1R-0750. It doesn’t hurt anything but the wallet, the fuel is not appreciably cleaner than it would be without it.

Coming from someone who has spent way too much time researching filters and filter setups… you can’t beat the stock filtration on the 13+ trucks. Stick to OEM filters and don’t worry about it, it’s the best filtration available.

If you’re going to keep the added filter at least use a more modern filter. The FF5814 or DBF5814 are what should be ran.
