Does anyone regret negative offset wheels? Paint damage etc?

I love the stance of 0 to -12 ish max offset... Just worried about paint rock chips etc. I can't make a decision and looking for input. For those running that range, how's the paint holding up?

I've got Black Rhino Mission wheels. 18x9 +6 with 35x12.5 Ridge Grapplers. The offset isn't even negative and it is straight up destroying the rocker panels on my brand new truck. Even with Bushwhacker flares, I still ended up needing mud flaps.

Anything past +12 is going to destroy the paint without some flares and flaps not to mention look silly just like the fools running -20 to -50s

Tires play a roll as well. Each manufacturer will tout their "stone ejectors", but dang if those aren't just missile launchers.
Even on my +18 9-wides, I have received 2 chips in the rockers due to the tread of the A/Ts.

Im about to have -10 installed soon but I have weathertech mudflaps as well as chrome fixed side steps that'll aid in protecting the truck. Coming from a TRX, many people without mudflaps or fixed steps were getting their bedside destroyed so Im taking the same approach on the 2500 as the TRX.

Mud flaps, PPF the rockers and add a running board that tucks up close to the rocker panel.

If your running heavy offset, i would even PPF the leading edges of the bed.
