I'd like to get a JK for a trail beater. JK because I need room for the kids otherwise I'd grab an ugly YJ or a vaunted TJ.

In my market however, Jeep tax takes on a new meaning. 75% of all Wranglers down here are pure mall crawlers and girl toys. There are more Pontiac Firebirds that have seen dirt than Rubicon trims in metro Phoenix. They are all "status" rides for those who use them as such. Therefore, the market is silly expensive on anything Wrangler. Hard to pay big money for something I just want to drop off a rock cliff and hug trees with.

You should've seen the looks I got when it was early 2019 and I was out in the (new body style at the time) JL crawling the same stuff and slamming the frame on every rock at the park.

Shame that Rubicons don't get much dirt use out there.

@Mike75 - you have good eyes and yes, that was Bald Eagle State Forest. I spend much time up in Pennsylvania and West Virginia using the Purple Lizard maps - they are awesome!
Purple Lizard maps are at another level!! Sooooo much to see and do at Bald Eagle. Pic below is from this past winter. Took my hiking buddy and went for a ride and some snow shoeing. I ordered my Ram several weeks ago so I can trailer the Jeep when I go to Rausch Creek and AOAA offroad parks.

2014 JK WILLYS Special Edition on Prorock axles. It's been to Colorado once but primarily used at Rausch Creek in central Pa.
Eaton locker with RCV shafts in front and TruTrak in rear with 10 Factory shafts. 4.88 gears and 37x13.5 tires o 18 wheels. It's got 37K miles on it so far and I am now using it as my daily summer driver, but the Ram 2500 tows it on a equipment trailer while going wheeling... because I am "that guy" that is an idiot with my jeep and I never know when it is going t take a nap on a rock or destroy something. Knock on wood, I have never yet "needed" the trailer. She always drives back to the trailer under her own power. So far.

We just spent the weekend there. Terrible weather but a great time. We had to pack up in 37 degree pouring rain.

It was very muddy. A guy slid off the road.

I have an '81 CJ7 in a million pieces... planned a LS/4L60 swap but bought a RZR and now all my money seems to go to it. Then turned around and bought my 2020 Ram 2500! So now I'm a little cash poor!

It's a 2012 900XP. Just had the motor rebuilt. Had a local guy who worked for S3 and Kryptonite Customs built it for me. I wanted something safe and he wanted to go crazy! It's def different.

Rzr’s are too much fun. Not jeeps, but damn near just as capable!
