Here is a synopsis of my air bag setup. I started with a air lift kit and hacked it up. I didn't want to go the full air bag route like factory or the kelderman kit because airbags tend to be too progressive in spring rate for a nice ride off road, and this truck gets wheeled. The air lift bags have an internal bump stop which was key considering the only place for bags was in place of the bumpstops. If I just installed the air lift kit I would have lost about 2.5" of suspension travel which I wasn't ok with. I cut off the factory bump stop mounts and fabricated a new setup. Overall very happy how it turned out.

I dig it except I think that air bag top plate will bend in the middle.
Total thickness between the 2 plates is 3/8" so I don't think so. If the bags were having to carry 1500 lbs each it may be an issue but realistically I doubt either will be over 500 lbs at any given time.

Why did you have to cut off the factory bump stops? Mine just unbolted.

Here's how it sits with 1000 lbs on the ball and 50 psi in the bags. I may drop it to 40, we will see.

How you like that camper? I've currently got a Salem (first one) but if I buy a new new one in a few years ORV is on my short list, but prob a larger one or a 5er. I'd love t have something for the winter/fall hunting seasn.

I have no complaints, the build quality is excellent. Main reasoni went ORV is its damn hard to find legit complaints about them. After buying one I see why. I have had 2 issues, the fresh water dump rod didn't get loctite at factory, and there was a foam plug left in the propane switch for the fridge. Fridge still worked but it'd go out while driving. Other than that it's excellent.
